He wasn't #1 overall + 6/7picks worth it
If I remember, he cost the Saints around two full draft classes! Crazy then. Crazy now.
This is where I fundamentally disagree. Wins are wins. Players who help us win are what we should get. CMC is in year 7 of his career and made SF legit. They just clinched last night. That dyanimism in the same backfield with Fields is worth it.
Think of it as taking the most complete offensive player, receiver and runner. Once the offseason hype train gets going, and Bijan runs the drills with receivers, people will go “things that make you go hmmm…..”. All over him.
As far as Will Anderson, I don’t know if he will keep the top spot over Jared Verse. I just don’t. Once the attribute Olympics and off season gets underway, I just don’t see a top 5 pick on him when this is an incredibly deep class at DT and DE. Even if Anderson keep a his top spot, the other DL in this draft will call into question whether or not he’s worth the top pick, as supply does affect demand. The exception is Carter. I’ll say it and keep saying it, there are a shot ton of good OL in this draft, but not legit first round talent. **** MiniMe Out of Northwestern. Let somebody else draft his concrete-footed ass.
As far as the value, I wouldn’t mind a conversation with somebody on this. I’d make it focused on an examination on variables and value. For example, value isn’t an infinite; it has a finite declamation, a finite structure with a limited value. Any mathhead who’d like to help me construct an equation and model would be great. I’m thinking the equation would be something like (DP*PV)/QA
Let DP = draft position
Let PV = positional value
Let QA = quantity available
