Handzus hasn't had one game over 40% on faceoffs this entire series. He hasn't looked good IMO.

i thought you were speaking overall and not just faceoffs. But yes agree there. Today was the worst showing in the circle as a team. Probably was the key difference.

Still giving the Hawks credit for at least tieing up the game. Thats one positive but thats always been the Hawks..im never to worried when down a goal against anyone.

anyways not mad at the loss. Didnt think they would go 4-0 against the Wild anyways. Hell of a good hockey atmosphere in Minny today also. Hockey fans that loud can make a difference in a game.

Handzus is, unfortunately, finished. He had a pretty solid run there when the Hawks first picked him up, but he was just burning the fumes out of the tank. These playoffs have exposed him. He cannot keep up with the pace and intensity of the playoffs, especially when they are putting him out there in the top six.

Let's see Pirri, please. He CANNOT be worse than Handzus has been.

You know it's never going to happen unless another injury happens though pez. You know how the coaching staff thinks about over the hill guys like Handzus. I don't get it either. Better chance of seeing Bolland come back with his broken back than Pirri getting the nod. Think q comes from the old school of thought that playoff experience out of one old wash up is more important than a guy with youthful energy. I don't agree with that myself esp with a team like the Hawks right now who have experience up the ying yang without Handzus... but that's a Q fault.

Bif fat fail by this coaching staff not having Pirri in the lineup months ago when Bolland was showing how screwed up he was and missing games. Could have given Pirri ample time to adjust and learn the system with the Hawks. But nope...worrying about the Hogs playoffs I guess? Seems like a business decision based on the Farm trying to make a little money than a hockey decision about the Hawks. Just my opinion. Its a fail....didn't work out either way...mcdunough should be fired

But one loss in the series in ot. Hawks lose the next game and Handzus looks like shit then maybe we see a change if Q grabs some courage. Doubt we see Pirri otherwise.

This Wild trap shit makes older guys like Handzus also look worse so who knows. he def cant play against it so mine aswell bring in some speed and some skating abilities to counter it more. This series reminds me a lot of the Preds series in 2010.

If that's true, here's to hoping Handzus pulls a groin or something. He's been unbearable.

How's Clowe, Dorsett, Brassard doing in NY?

Pretty much knew that this would be Minnys best effort/game

Didn't understand why the linesmen would just lecture Minny centers and not kick them out of the draws?

Wouldn't mind seeing Toews find his way on the scoresheet.

Toews needs to get going, but Hossa has been pretty bad. Toews right now has absolutely no help. Hossa is turning the puck over at a ridiculous pace. He needs to get his act together.

Even as 'bad' as Hossa had been...he's got 2pts

Toews has Hossa and Saad...while Kane has scraps

Plus Mr Conn Smythe gets PP time too, so he gets opportunities

Don't think Seabrook has looked too good either

Saads not doing much pmx. Good defensive posture and play (even though he sits at -2) but hes got rookie playoff syndrom all over him so far. Not that this is shocking.

With that said...and god forbid I say this....Kanes actually getting more help with Sharp on the LW than Toews is with Saad on his LW.

But again the trap has a way of making things look worse than they are.

Did that hurt to type?

And you better watch it...Saad's another one you may not be allowed to criticize

im extra slow in the brain today.

not really criticizing Saad just throwing out the reality that hes a rookie on a top line in his first NHL playoffs. Hes not going to live up to high standard. Especially when Toews is getting shadowed..double teammed...hacked...lanes being closed down. He needs better wing help. Saad can repay now after Toews made him look better than he actually is all season (and im not saying Saad is untalented but lets be honest Toews has had a big hand in Saads season).

Q could do Toews a favor and stack the top line a little bit more like he did late in the 3rd today. Toews had more space on those few shifts with Kane up there with him. Still stuck with Saad on the LW though...Sharp could have been there.

All fodder. Hossa and Saad both have to be better on the top line though but again this trap blurs shit.

I think Kane and Hossa need to be switched. With the way Hossa and Saad are playing, Toews is getting all of the attention.

Saad/Toews/Kane

AnyonebutHandzus/Sharp/Hossa

So, I didn't watch most of this game as I had a hockey game at the same time, but that OT winner....what the ****? Why is Crawford basically laying on his stomach?

He had a strong game otherwise. He def didnt look good on that OT goal. Hawks don't get to OT without Craw in regulation. Sounds a lot like last year doesn't it?

Really don't know why he was down so early Pez and remained there. That entire shift was brutal starting with Bickells (i thought he was horrible today) turn over and I really need to see the OT goal again because that was a messy scene down low and behind the net. Oduya kind of sucked on the OT goal also now that i watch it again. Over committed had the puck on his stick and fucked it up. Craw needs better positioning though for sure.

if anything came out of that game is the Wild are going glove high...but isnt that the common blueprint on NHL goalies these days?

He's not generating the offensive chances he usually generates and that credit goes to the Wild they are grinding him and shadowing him hard. Saad is held back without Toews also as this series is showing (talking offense here not defense both guys are still playing great in that department). Toews is not getting to the net as easily as he usually does and he is getting very limited views of the net and shooting lanes...hell a lot of the passing lanes aren't there for Toews either. hes trying his ass off as usual.

That entire sequence was 2012 playoffs all over again. A terrible play by Bickell, a terrible giveaway by Oduya, and a soft OT goal given up by Crawford. Let's hope they all got it out of their system.
