You know what is embarrassing? Everyone makes fun of the packers only getting 1 super bowl with one of the greatest qbs ever. @nc0gnet0 loves to rip on the bears for not being able to get a qb, but he proclaims Stafford was a franchise qb and the lions couldn't win a single playoff game in a decade+. That is complete franchise ineptitude

The issue is if they go out and do that after Fields looks way better, and if he manages to lose some, or all, of those games, Nagy will have lost the team. Kind of the Russell Wilson effect. Paid a ton of money for Flynn to be a starter, but once the team knew Wilson was better, the coach couldn't force FLynn. And they ate that entire contract...as he was just cut right?

Difficult to compare Flynn who had 2 starts to Dalton with 142. Fields could look better but not be making the right reads, adjustments etc. Of course being a vet doesn't mean Dalton will either. Preseason schemes tend to be vanilla and is not the regular season even playing against #1s. Dalton will be less likely to get fooled but D's mixing it up in the regular season and it's not something Fields will have seen until it's live. It's not a prediction and like I said, I hope Fields earns the start of the season but I won't be disappointed if he doesn't. It's his team either way.

Maybe I'm in the minority. I think Dalton gets at least 4 games no matter what. The KC "model" I think will win out in Nagy's head and Fields won't have a realistic shot.
