Who are you talking to and why would you bring up Tom Brady?

Here's why......

Jeffrey was mediocre when Marshall went out. I know I know Cutler should have made him run better routes and actually catch footballs, but who was that next exceptional receiver? Oh yeah the Bear running back. the player Cutler had to drop the ball off to because the other exceptional talented receivers were so wide open cause they knew how to run routes. LMAO. The lunacy that is a Bear fan cutler hater.

Look, again, Cutler needs to be a better QB, no question, but I expect better talent for him to utilize to make improvements, and no matter what you say the word exceptional is far from this team.

Cutler is too much of a gunslinger. Now, I don't put ALL OF THAT on him, our DEF was bad, he was playing from behind quite often, HAD to take some shots, but he also dug himself quite a few holes.

No doubt the defense was bad but the offense did them no favors. It doesn't help the situation much when the offense doesn't score until it's garbage time and the other team is playing a soft prevent defense.

And I can live with the gunslinger attitude, but sadly Cutler takes it to a whole other level into being flat out careless with the football and his decision making.

Head staring down the right side of the field the whole way, throws up another bad decision off balance back foot prayer into double coverage with Forte wide open for an easy first down...

Naked bootleg (OMG this is what he's good at!!) but shit, nobody is open...ok just throw it away and take the 3 points and the lead... nope let's throw late across the middle of the field across the body...

Just plain lazy mechanics; holding the ball down by his waist just asking to get stripped...

The no way is this guy open but it's the first drive of the game and this play is scripted so **** it let me throw it in there anyways...

The let me stare down the safety, pump fake, then throw it right to him anyways blue light special...

My personal favorite; the fade away throw directly into the trash of people readzone INT...

Several wide open easy options underneath.. **** it let's throw to the one guy that's not open...

More textbook throwing form and mechanics on display here in this vintage Cutler bonehead decision...

I could make these all night, it's pathetic. You swap Careless Cutler for Aaron Rodgers who's got that same gunslinger attitude without all the dumb INTs and mistakes and I guarantee you nobody is crying about Trestman's offense or playcalling. Probably would of even made the playoffs.

I hope the guy screws his head on straight this year but I have absolutely zero faith in him. No matter what system or coaches or players you surround him with he's a **** up waiting to happen.

Wouldnt doubt you are some overweight toolbag in real life. Not at all.

Wouldn't doubt you're 30 years old with the intelligence of an 8 year old that lives with your mom. I do know your football IQ is below 0.

The only conclusion you can draw from McCown's time here is that it is an obvious statistical outlier.

There is no system that makes players of McCown's talent throw for the best TD to INT ratio in NFL history. That's called luck and an outlier. If such a system existed Trestman would be the highest paid assistant in NFL history moving from team to team collecting millions transforming the guys who busted out of the league into Tom Bradys.

Cutler's time in Chicago is obviously done and Pace will move on when it makes sense for the organization but until then I have to root for the guy and hope he puts it all together.

At this point you expect the occasional throw into the ground or the panicky, force the ball Cutler. It could improve, but there's nothing we've seen to really make us believe that. I think most all of us have seen him when he's on. He's a paradox at qb. He makes mistakes under pressure and sometimes he's at his best under pressure. I think he's detached, if you have to put it in a word. When he gets emotionally involved (competitive), he seems to excel. Enigmatic is another word.

McCown can operate within a system. Cutler transcends system, but it's a double edged sword.

I think in practice and film break down it's all clear as day to Cutler but on game day when things start to go wrong and they're taking away what they want to do on offense he gets easily frustrated and will start to force things which is why it usually snowballs with him.

A shorter leash will certainly help Cutler. Expecting him to go out there and read defenses and find the open man in a WCO isn't going to work. Gase telling him where to go with the ball will help if hes going to keep doing the rub routes, picks, using mismatches while paired up with a stronger commitment to the run. Should be fun to watch even if it's only to see how good Kevin White really is and if Carey/Langford have something.

Jay Cutler is the best Bears QB in recent history. Unfortunately that isn't saying a whole lot. All I know is, some of you actually need to be objective rather than emotional.

Is he really, though?
I do not think the gap between him and Orton is as large as Bears fans would like to think it is.
Orton had a 79.8 passer rating in 2008 for the bears, Cutler had a 76.8 in 2009.
Orton had an 86.8 passer rating on the broncos in 09, Cutler had an 86 flat in 08 with the broncos.

aside from that, Orton actually has had a 20 td, 9 int season which breaks the 2-1 mark that Cutler has never achieved.

You can call Orton Check down Charlie if you want, but Orton put up 7.1 YPA for his stay in Denver, Dead even with Cutler at 7.1 YPA in Chicago.

Orton is 2 games over .500 for his career as a starter on 5 teams, Cutler is 3 games over .500 as a starter on 2 teams.

I am by no means a believer in Orton, but I don't think it would be a stretch to think Orton could have performed as well or even better than Cutler if he was allowed 5 years of offseasons as the unquestioned starter.

Hell- If we apply the Cutler excuse filter to Orton, such as the shit line, bad OC, Bad WRs... and play the "what if" game about Orton having Bennett, Forte, Marshall, and Jeffrey, then Orton might very well have been far superior.
He certainly wouldn't be worse, and he definitely would have been less expensive.

Cutler holds Bears records for a simple reason- 2 horrible GMs spent a fortune on him and were forced to let him play by price alone.
