Hawks win (reg or OT), and - CHI wins!

Edmonton regulation loss, and - EDM loses!

Any type of Phoenix loss or shootout win.



Reason for PHX shootout win scenario.....Hawks clinch with PHX shootout win because with SO win, phx can only tie Hawks in pts if they win all of their remaining wins and Hawks lose their remaining games, therefore going the tiebreaking scenarios. First tiebreaking is ROW (reg + OT wins). If SO win, phx can only get maximum 23 ROW for rest of season. Hawks currently at 23 ROW. Goes to next tiebreaker...head to head pts. Hawks advantage.

I'm ok with it... I've seen all the arguments for and against and I can't remember all the stats, but I think that i remember the #1 seed having as good a chance to win as any of the other seeds so it really doesn't matter at the end of the day? Toews and Kane have won everything else, they might as well win the President's but if they don't who cares as long as they still win the cup. Seems close to a clinch but I keep forgetting how few games are actually left.

Looking at how past PT winners have done in the post-season as any indication how the most recent one will do is just superstitious mumbo-jumbo that is so prevalent in hockey (and sports) circles.

I know it started off with a lot of numbers in the chart at the beginning and was confusing at first, but hope you all have enjoyed watching the magic numbers decrease over the last 2 months.
