Unfortunately, don't see that happening. They have been playing well lately and 4 of next 6 opponents are not in the top 8 for playoffs at this time.

Interesting stat. Hawks would be half way through a regular 82 game season with 68 points. Current point pace would put them at 136 pts for 82 game season.

Didn't they say at some point after last nights game that 68 pts after 41 games is a new NHL record.

I'll have the chart up later, but Hawks can clinch with ANY Ducks loss on Wednesday.

If Ducks only get a point, they can only tie the Hawks in points and Hawks will have the ROW tiebreaker

Western Conference Magic Number: 2

President's Cup Magic Number: 7

Hawks can clinch conference with ANY kind of Anaheim loss on Wednesday. If Ahaheim gets a point, they can at most tie the Hawks in points. However, Hawks would own the 1st tiebreaker, ROW (max ANA can get=26; Current Hawks=27)

Although chart says 2, magic number is really 1. Even if ANA gets 1 point for a SO or OT loss, they can only tie the Hawks in points at the end of the season. However, Hawks would own the tiebreaker (ROW) as ANA would only be able to get max 26 for the entire season and Hawks already have 27 (ROW). So, any kind of ANA loss clinches the West for the Hawks.

I heard that the Hawks had the fastest start to 70 points since the 44-45 Canadians, who must have really been dominant since there were no OT or SO points to be gained.

Don't know what you all think and it is early to tell, but I do want us to play the Bluejackets in the first round. I really do think they are our best fit for us to advance. Lack of playoffs, will be their issue.

I don't want to play Columbus or St. Louis... but at the same time if the Hawks do I"m not afraid of any team. They've shown all year that they can adapt to any opponent... except the east of course.

Kind of like before interleague play in MLB. Dont play your championship opponent at all or those that played against them

I want the Hawks to face the toughest, hardest teams. If they can't beat them, they don't deserve shit.

I don't give a shit what they deserve, just win. After what they have already accomplished, I don't care how they do it just win or it will be a let down.
