Bare with me here. I was falling asleep last night I started thinking about our D corps. We need one more D man right? On the cheap of course. Close to league minimum.

Then the thought of McD making that splash, grabbing those headlines, popped into my head. "What can I do to Get lotsa press? What can i do to make another connection to the past?" Then it hit me.

Chelios.

Does that thought scare the shit out of anyone else?

I don't think it is out of the realm of possibility, but lord knows I don't want the dinosaur on the team playing. I wouldn't mind him teaching the guys his work ethic though. But not playing.

I know I am a huge moron, but does anyone else think he McD would do that? Wold anyone want Chelios back?

Hell, does any team want Chelios?

If we need another D man I'd rather have Kim Johnnson back at league minimum IF he is healthy and can prove it. It would be a good bargain and we'd get a veteran D man on the cheap who needs to take a Turco-like deal to prove he can still play and add value.

Jacko I believe you were having a senior moment. Or that haircut has really made you light-headed.

Johnsson made $5.3 million last year and had a cap hit of $4.8 million, I don't think he's coming back to this team or any team at the league minimum.

I don't see anyone signing him for more giving his extensive concussion injury. He's not even signed at this point so finding a job has to be a higher priority to him than landing a big payday.

Jako, they want a veteran D-man, not an ancient D-man.

Whats funny is awhile back some people on the O boards were seriously considering this.

If it were up to some of those people, They would bring JR and Amonte out of retirement along with him. Hell, I'll raise you a Daze and Belfour.

How much does Tuomo cost these days? I know I just made jako cum.

Please, no more talk of that guy. i would rather have an untested kid. I wouldn't mind Chelios mentoring. But nothing more than that.

Aw heck, why not have Hull just lace them up again and play on the 4th line?

Not even McSplash would be this stupid. I am sure the Hawks PR department has loved that the Hawks have stayed in the news the whole summer with all the outgoing and incoming player traffic and dramatic salary negotiations.

Chelios played in Chicago over 10 years ago, time to get over it aleady.

I wouldn't put it past him. I really wouldn't.

The only way I would want him near this team is to be a strength and conditioning coach or something.

He should just go get another DUI and go to jail so I don't have to see his "jerk face" or hear about him and hockey for awhile.

Cheli supposedly has announced his retirement. I think bringing up a younger player would be better for the team in the long run then bringing in Chelios.
