I have to worry more about online streaming sites(movies,tv shows,etc.) in that regard than porn. And to be fair, I probably could use a newer version of microsoft office(I have 08...apparently it is known to have issues, especially for macs)

What version do you have? I have a mid-2012 macbook pro(15 inch). Office was perfectly fine until I installed windows 8 via parallels. My dad thinks that there's an extra copy(or script) of it somewhere on the computer and that's the problem. I think it has to do with the windows installation, seems to be way too much of a coincidence for it to stop working RIGHT after the windows installation. At this point, I might as well just scrap it and go for a newer version.

Cartridges are a scam.
I bought myself a $45.00 Edwin double edge safety razor and a $30.00 (100 count) box of Feather blades last year. I'm not even half-way through the box yet. It takes a little longer to shave and there's a learning curve, but I'll never go back to cartridge or electric again.
