The fact that there are Christmas movies on all year round. Scrolling though channels right now and there is Elf and Christmas With the Kranks on. And this isn't one of those cases of "they're starting the holiday season way too early" either; I've been noticing this type of stuff for months. I just don't get it.

Going off that, I hate the holiday season now that I am an adult.... its alot of work and money for very little pay off.

Plus people expect me to be happy and not bitter/angry.... its who I am, don't try to change me with some spiked eggnog

I'll be the one to say it. You have missed the holiday season if you are looking for a "pay off."

I really enjoy working at a grocery store during the holidays

Lol you took that a bit too literally.... the meaning was, as an adult, you put alot of time/effort/work into the holiday season and get far less joy out of it than you do as a kid.

Btw there is no way to "miss" the holiday season, its in your face 3+ months a year (see I can be overly literal as well)

You get less enjoyment out of it? You are the proverbial exception that proves the rule that most enjoy them more as an adult than as a kid.

I hate it when UPS tracking shows they left at 4:41AM to deliver packages but all they tell you about your delivery is "By End of Day" .... well I guess I will listen for the doorbell for the next 13+ hours :D

It's the commercialization of it all that makes it less enjoyable as an adult.

As a kid all I knew was that Christmas meant time off from school, spending time at my relatives houses and of course, presents.

As an adult you have all the responsibilities like shopping for and wrapping the presents, driving to the relative's houses, putting up the decorations. For me extra time off work means less money in my paycheck. That's not to mention the credit card bills that come in a month later.

I realize most of us bring this on ourselves though...

For me it's like white noise.

I generally have a great time with X-mas and such. I don't have kids, so I don't have to worry about that. My brother (who has step kids) lives in Mexico so I don't see him and his kids either. So, basically, Christmas is just an excuse for some of my old friends to come by and get shitty drunk with my parents and I.

Now there's something I hate, cable television...nothing but advertising.

I used to use it for 2 things, movies and sporting events...both of which I now get online.

So I dumped Comcast and hooked up the wall mounted television monitor to PC.
