crafting usually isnt something i get into, and i dont even remember what the system was like in the witcher 3. all i remember is getting the material to make the best armor.

Same here... I went running around getting stuff to craft armor late in the game.

Crafting needs to be baked into a game so it is intuitive and flows well with trading.

Otherwise I tend to ignore it unless I absolutely need it for a specific purpose, ala I had to craft the best armor or weapon or w/e because I couldn't buy it.

The only thing I've ever crafted is the set armors. All the other stuff is superfluous as the quest rewards you get are just as good.

I've really been enjoying the FCR3 mod for the Witcher 3 the last few nights. It was done by one of the devs and corrects a lot of the imbalances in the vanilla game. Running a delayed recovery/endure pain build going right now that allows me to chug every potion and keep them up perpetually as long as I keep toxicity above 55%, which is pretty easy. Potion builds are viable again.

Is this on a PC?

Far Cry 5 is great. Graphics are beautiful. Quite possibly the best I've ever seen on console....I am playing on a One X though so I don't know how it compares to the PS4 or original xbox one. Gameplay is pretty solid as well. There's a ton of things to do.

i remember when the first far cry came out, it was a benchmark game, along with doom 3. i had a ati 9800 pro and was able to max it out, and that was the first time i had a top of the line pc in years so i was blown away. kind of the same thing that happened with all my pcs come to think of it from a kid on. get a top of the line, highish end machine... then sit on it for like ten years before upgrading. granted i was also a big console gamer, so a high end gaming pc wasnt a need.

anyway... overall i dig the far cry series. one of, if not ubis only worth while series imo(funny it wasnt an ip). i didnt care for 2, but 3 was fun and addictive, though ubis penchant for scattering the map with endless bs did take its toll so when i tried blood dragon i just couldnt get into it, not being in the mood for more of the same. 4s been on my list but i put it off for the same reason i put blood dragon down. ill probably just skip to 5 since it looks and sounds more interesting.

i heard fc5 takes a different approach and isnt littered with mindless filler like the past games. ill be playing on pc with a gtx 1080 so im looking forward to seeing how it looks. based on bench marks it should be far less demanding than FFXV which im still playing now.

I'm finally getting around to playing Ghost Recon Wildlands. The graphics are pretty damn impressive and I'm enjoying the story so far. I usually lose interest in these open world games because they get boring and repetitive, so we'll see how far I get into it.

playing elex. as usually with a piranha bites games, its clunky, but also as is the case with their games the role playing is actually a focus at least eraly on. so for im digging it. but the problem with their games seems to be when they open up and you get into the open world they fall apart. that was the case with gothic 2 and the first risen. in both cases when youre in the first town the game has a ton of detailed RPing and interesting interactions with characters, but then it just kind of goes by the wayside later on. Hopefully thats not the case with elex.

I started playing the Mad Max game on PC... kinda think it would be better on console, but oh well.

I like it, but I shelved it until I can play it over the weekend.... been playing more HOI4 which allows me to still watch shows or baseball.

I am commanding the U.S. during WWII and watching baseball... holy **** I got old.

Anyone been following the Fallout: New California mod? I just found out about it today, but apparently it's almost ready to be released. Loved FO New Vegas and FO3, so this should be interesting.

Hearts of Iron 4.... it is a PC game where you command a nation before/thru WWII... 1936-conclusion.

AHh, I remember something about this series , but its a Grand Strategy..... that genre is so hit or miss for me. But you say it's good, so I'll grab it at the next GoG/Steam sale. Native Linux too, so that's nice. :hi5:
