What if the Bears roster is really just a 4-13 team?

If this team did not waste the first 30 minutes of almost every game they played this year they would probably have more than a winning record. And Eberflus most likely would still have a job.

Hasn't this been tradition since Nagy and Trubisky? At least since Fields.
Every off season is hype, every start of the season falls flat on their face.

Yes it was even as early as Fox and Trubisky and that's why he didn't sit his rookie year.

Odd, different GMs, different HCs, different players, same results.

Can’t fire the owner. Wont change as long as the Bears are under McCaskey rule.

changing coaches is not a magical fix on it's own, getting the change right is far more important, bears fans never seem to figure that out, fire Nagy and were good, now that we fired Flus, were going to get it going, as long as Mccaskey and Poles are there you're screwed

Poles worked under Dorsey, Veach, and Pioli. He was an integral part of building a multi-championship winning team.

Cunningham worked under Newsome and Roseman. He too knows what building a winner looks like.

The roster he’s built would be in the playoff mix if Eberflus wasn’t a complete failure.

Your take is a lazy narrative. Even with Eberflus, the Bears have given the Lions all they can handle over the last three meetings and should have won them all.

Nobody is screwed. It’s amazing that a fan of a team that hasn’t won shit since 1957 is on this board pontificating about anything.

I love how one or two early season games can entirely control the narrative for one player for the rest of the year and that narrative is completely wrong.

I love how you still use PFF like their eye test scores are better than anyone else's eye test.

At least until you don't agree with their scores, then you go with your own eye test. Right?

As someone who has a problem picking out specific players on lines and tracking them all I have to do is take note of their number. After that it's easy. I have my own eyes. I can see where the sack came from. And with this oline's problem of letting defense through untouched it's very easy to see problems and where they came from.
If you need PFF to be your eyes you should probably give up talking about football. You are no expert.

I think Eberflus' greatest ability was to somehow turn games into annoying taffy-pulls, but he was such a terrible strategist that he lost every close game. I think Eberflus in some way covered over the 'perpetual' rebuild that of Ryan Poles. The Bears roster is poorly constructed and completely devoid of star players. What Bears players could start for other good teams?

To me, they could overhaul the vast majority of the roster and get the same results. DJ Moore is probably their best player, Jaylon Johnson could start for any NFL team, and then you have Montez Sweat who would be a nice addition to most teams. Caleb and Rome have potential to be really good....but after that you just have a bunch of guys. Losing Brisker hurts more in the run defense, and losing Billings is the same. I just can't believe that the Bears haven't "uncovered" more good players this long into a rebuild.
We know it because they've already won more than 4 games in a season and they did so with a lesser QB under center in 2023.

You know your HC really is that bad when you have a team that shows it has the talent to win in spite of a bad HC, so then that HC finds a way to do the one thing that would **** up a winning streak as well as lose the entire locker room in one fell swoop.
