Grow up little kid.

This is a dumb thread.

Hey guys, the Blackhawks just won the Stanley Cup so let me ask you something, who's the most popular team in Chicago right now? Is it the two sorry ass baseball teams, the basketball and football teams that have been into their championshipless off-seasons or the hockey team that won the cup not even a week ago???? HMMMMM Lets think about that. Hey lets also ask which movie is more popular right now, the A-Team or Iron Man 2? It couldnt have been the Summer blockbuster that only came out 2 days ago now could it? NO WAAAYYY!!!!

The Chicago Bears are one of professional sports most storied franchises and football has the biggest following in the country. In Florida, i see Bears fans all the time. Just yesterday at the Beach i ran into two. I rarely ever see a Hawk fan. Of course in Chicago everyone is rocking Hawks gear, it doesnt take a genius to figure out why but im sure the young OP might need some explanation.

Not in the same city as the almighty Chicago Blackhawks! No one would dare overthrown a hockey team!

Not in Chicago, because hockey is more popular up here than basketball.

If the Bulls got LeBron, would you really stick by that statement? Despite being mediocre-bad for the most part the Bulls have led the NBA in attendance the past decade.

They'd have to win the title. Then, maybe.

But I think the NBA's popularity has been in a major decline the last few years, while I feel like the NHL is on the way up. Just my opinion.

Therefore, I think the Blackhawks would still be the more popular team. I think only the Bears could knock the Hawks off the pedestal they're going to be on for the next decade. They're going to be a dynasty.

Yup, what anytime fails to realize is the Hawks have a dynasty on their hands. Toews/Kane/Keith for the next decade or so plus all of our other solid players and role players. The Bears and the Bulls most likely won't win another championship or two within the next decade, the Hawks have a great chance to.

I can't speak for the 2006 Bears season because I wasn't around for it.

But the Blackhawks generated a buzz in this city like I'd never seen before.

And that includes the Bulls run in the 90s.

They have a dynasty? Sorry, you have to win multiple titles in a certain time span to be a dynasty, kid. Just because they have the potential, doesnt mean they will be. What happens when they lose the role players that stepped up when Toews, Kane and Buff werent to be found? Maybe we should wait for multiple championships before we call them a dynasty, ok? Yeah thanks.

The Bulls and Bears dont have to win titles right now or multiple titles now to have a bigger following than the Hawks. They already do. The Jordan era only ended a little over a decade ago. Its still fresh in many young minds(older then your time though). 6 championships in a decade built a stronger and lasting fanbase then what the Hawks currently have, despite what you think because you see a bunch of fresh Toews jerseys or shirts on the streets the past few months. Youre young so you must be new to this thing called bandwagon and fair weather fans. Doesnt matter the sport, they will show up and they will be there.

The Hawks are hot right now in Chicago but they do not have the same following the Bears and Bulls have. You dont need to live next to the UC to know it. Hockey is just not the sport that the other two are in terms of popularity. This isnt DET where the wings have had recent success unlike their football team who hasnt been good since 57. The Bulls 90s dynasty(that was a dynasty for the uninformed OP) and Bears 85 championship team was really not so long ago that people have turned to hockey. We're any of you in Bourbonnaise for Bears TC last year? Yeah, football isnt losing interest anytime soon.

What he said was the Hawks have a dynasty on their hands, which means that they COULD become one very soon. And they have talent similar to what the Wings did when they started their run about 15 years ago.

And how many people were loving the Bears in December? Yeah, there was a ton of hype for Cutler, but what happened by the end of the season? Tons of frustration, tons of disappointment. Half the people wanting the coaching staff fired (which has some merit to it).

Hear anything negative at all about the Hawks recently? No, they've built up a summer full of goodwill.
