I'll start it off. I have two in the Chicago area. One is a chain and the other isn't.

First would be Bob Chins. We eat lunch there 2-3 times a month on the weekend. They fly a lot of their seafood in fresh daily.

With your frequent guest appearances to your fav restaraunt I thought for sure you would know it is spelled "Bob Chinn's"! http://bobchinns.com/ Bwwaaaa hahaha It is also my favorite restaurant in Illinois as well.

A great getaway restaraunt favorite for the wife and I is Cafe Calamari in William's Bay, WI right outside of Lake Geneva. http://www.cafecalamari.com/#!__cafe

As far as best steak ever it would have to be the bone-in ribeye from Harry Caray's. Not on the menu but available when requested is the garlic crust on top. Wow.... fantastic and for sure to have every table within 15 feet of you being the envy of you.

All of the sitedown resturants at Paris in LV get my seal of approval. Just as good as the resturants and the Wynn, and far cheaper.

Per capita Vegas has the best restaurants anywhere I have ever traveled. Some many great places, fantastic food, wine.... wow.

A must every time we visit there is a smaller restaurant in the MGM. It is called the Grand Wok. They have an orange chicken that has had us coming back for years. Everyone we have taken there has since made it a regular of theirs as well. Great sushi also.

Where's the Paradise Pup?

Ever been to Hot Doug's in the city? It has been on Discovery Channel and Food Network. They have some of the wildest homemade sausages and the fries cooked in duck lard............ Wow!

Comet Cafe in Milwaukee has the single best meal I have had and it's amaizing every time (going tomorrow and am excited) "Compact Turkey dinner" basically fresh turkey, stuffing and mashed potatoes rolled into a ball coated with penko beer crust and deep fried then 3 of the "balls" are places in slow cooked turkey beer gravy. Rumor has it their meatloaf is really good, though I always get the CTD, I have had their mac N cheese and it may be the best I've ever had as well.

Joe's Stone Crab (the Miami location) though the chicago is good, nothing as far as seafood goes comes close to touching the Miami location. Best seafood on earth, fresh as it gets, amaizingly prepared and though it's not cheap, they really aren't that bad for what you are getting.

Gibsons (and I prefer the rosemont to the chicago location) imo and I've been fortunate enough to try a lot of the high end beef joints across the country, now there are a few I'd like to try and haven't (Peter Lugers, Shula's), I've never had a bad cut there and I've never had it cooked improperly either, sides and deserts are great too.

Best Pizza (and I'm sure most of you have never tried it) but "Al's" in Cicero 2 blocks west of Austin on Cermak has always been and will always be the best imo. I've been eating there since before I ever attended preschool and still make sure I get there a few times a year in spite of the ride for me to get there.

BTW Mr Kelly, I'll agree that ruths chris does have a pretty good steak as well, though depending on the location it seems as though sometimes medium rare is a lot more medium.

Also Jason's deli is a good quick salad bar I agree!

btw mr K you forgot about Yen Yen, though it'll never tocuk Silk Manderin (in round lake) to me, they are both excellent.

imo Jason's Deli is one of those good "shitty restraunts" if that makes sense, the food isn't exactly all that high quality, but the salad bar always has what I want and who doesn't like free ice cream...

Sounds like I am extremely low maintenance compared to the rest of you. It just takes very little to make me happy I guess. I could really use a Limeade Sparkler from Taco Hell right now.

OK ... this thread has got my juices flowing. I'm going to have to get a cheddar stuffed burger from Glenn's grill tomorrow. Two patties of meat with sharp cheddar bits stuffed between them and a slice of sharp cheddar on top, grilled over charcoal. Tasty tasty.

gonna have to agree with bhp cause he beat me to it. Best burger anywhere is kuma's and the mac and cheese to match. And hot Doug's for all things encased meat.

Gotta try the duck sausage with the foie gras. Anthony Bourdain enjoyed it as well.

I think for Mexican On The Border is hard to beat. The Empanada and Flountas are tasty!

its really good don't get me wrong, but it isnt as good as everyone elevates the novelty of it to be. Duck fat fries are the same. Other sausages have blown it away.

There was a place just off the beach in Virginia Beach called Harpoon Larry's that had some of the best sea food I've ever had....haven't been back there in years so i don't know if it is even still around.

On The Boarder falls into the "shitty good" food for me like Jason's Deli's salad bar (ironically the two of these I go to are right next to each other)... Hardly "good mexican" if you can even call it mexican. But I still go there a few times a month for lunch because the servers know me, it's quick and for food that isn't of super quality it has pretty good flavors. But I would never call it a "great mexican restraunt".

I go for the Empanada and Flounta's. As for the area around here, it's probably one of the better ones. Best Mexican I ever had was a small place in Carbondale. Their enchaladas were unreal.

Not a huge fan of Chipolte or El Famous. Although Elfamous corn tortilla steak taco's aren't bad.
