Try to get it that other teams aren't going to give the Bulls Christmas presents in any trade. So taking some rumors of players that are supposedly on the block what can the Bulls do.

I don't see Cleveland willing to include draft picks with Waiters for Deng because they seem intent on drafting their roster. I think they would actually be better off getting Deng for picks and resigning him as a stable veteran to steady the play of the young nucleus. If the Bulls did get Waiters he would be less important than the picks and be on a tryout for the rest of the year. He would have to get his head in the game and decide to be a team player under Thibs.

The other thing that appears certain is Asik is leaving Houston possibly to Atlanta for Paul Milsap. I think the Bulls can get in the middle of that. Milsap is more of an inside player and what would better serve Houston is an outside shooter who wouldn't clash inside with Howard. Asik and Motiejunus go to Atlanta, Milsap and Houston's Aaron Brooks to Chicago and Carlos Boozer to Houston.

Milsap takes Boozer's spot and Gibson still backs up at the 4 and 5. Brooks maybe is able to backup at the point and Teague can go to Iowa or get traded. It cuts the Bulls' payroll slightly and we've all seen that 2 smaller contracts allow more possible moves than 1 big one.

I believe we have some options coming up.

-Deng

I think that we can get a young cheap player (example: Waiters), an expiring vet (to match money during trade) & a mid to late first round pick for Deng. We're not getting a lottery pick for him.

-Boozer

I think that Boozer has value, but more value next season. His expiring contract will be attractive to teams looking to clear salary for the summer of 2015 free-agents (Kevin Love, Lamarcus Aldridge, Eric Gordon, Rajon Rondo, etc...). I think that we can get a couple of nice rotation players from these teams.

We could also use his expiring salary in a package to bring in one of these potential free-agent stars during next season, considering teams would attempt to re-coup assets for those player's eventual exit during free-agency.

-Kirk Hinrich & Mike Dunleavy

Maybe a late first or future first from a serious title contender for the pair. I'm sure a team like the Thunder could use some veterans off the bench.

The other players on the team are keepers, IMHO.

I can't say Deng to Phx often enough -- but it needs to happen soon, before Phx realizes they're not good enough to make the playoffs!

The most realistic deal is the nonexistent one...that is, no move at all. Hopefully they're smarter than that.

Apparently us and the 76ers are the top suitors for Waiters...and it sounds like, if given the choice, Waiters would pick the 76ers because in his mind "he would be the best player and would reach superstardom." He is high risk high reward but idk after hearing all of this that I would deal for him. It sounds like his ego is bigger than his body, he would probably cause more problems than he's worth.

Deng to Suns for Wizards and Pacers picks?

would could end up with 4 picks this year (our own, bobcats, wiz, pacers)

paxson has always been good at getting picks so i think he could manage something like that

Yep, that's what I've been saying. The Bulls could end up with four 1st round picks if they're willing to move people. I'm more excited about freeing up cap space for some FA moves, though.

For some reason I don't see the Suns giving up 2 1sts for Deng, but I hope I'm wrong

yeah true

i threw the pacers pick in as a sweetener but i would take the wiz pick alone if they offered it

If the rumors that the Suns are willing to shop a first rounder are true, I wouldn't mind this deal:

http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=my9k9h6

Also have the Suns sending over the Pacers' first-rounder in '14 (top 14 protected this year). Like this deal for both teams a lot. Bulls have a chance to maintain their cap flexibility in the form of Okafor's expiring deal, which is actually more than Deng's. Okafor might not even be able to play this year, so you'd almost have to figure the Bulls would be looking to go into full fledged tank mode, unless they really feel like they could ride this roster into the playoffs with Boozer and Noah leading the way -- I'm just not seeing it.

They also get some solid front court prospects in Morris and Plumlee who can provide depth and give them a chance to develop cheap assets with tons of cap control. Goodwin gives them a guy with nice range that can score off the bench. The Suns add two veterans in Deng and Hinrich who can provide the leadership and experience lacking from the roster. The Suns force their own hand to develop Alex Len and Eric Bledsoe, something they should be concentrating on in the first place. Murphy is essentially tossed in to make the salaries work, but he could be another asset for the Suns, as his deal isn't guaranteed.

Here is an idea... Rose to the lakers for Gasol, Gasols huge contract drops after this year and we can get rid of him. Clears our cap space so we can take a shot at somebody like Love in two years. Completely rebuild from the ground up, Rose does not work, he is broken and it is obvious he will not be fixed.

Actually they should start the rebuild from the very TOP TO GROUND...STARTING WITH FIRING PAXGAR AND BRINGING IN ANOTHER GM WHOS NOT IN LOVE WITH THIS CORE AND IS NOT TOO FRIGHTENED OR INCAPABLE OF MAKING TRADES........PAXGARS ONLY SKILL ON THE FRONT OFFICE IS STANDING PAT........

They draft solid though..they find a lot of solid players late in the draft. They've gambled and missed but most superstars are taken before we draft

I agree with this. He is afraid to make any big moves. The Rose experiment should be done, he wasn't the same when he came back and he surely wont be the same when he finally returns, if he even can stay on the court more than 2 weeks any more.
