I'm not disagreeing with you. As I mentioned, it certainly wouldn't be at the top of my list. I fully expect them to draft a CB at one point.
Totally. My criticism isn't with what you said, because I also agree with you. And I've been bracing for a CB at 9, because it is a very big possibility, especially since there are 2-3 guys that are top-10 worthy.

For me, it's just like, "enough already". You need a good oline and dline to compete in the NFL, please fucking build those. I hate hearing constantly about how teams need to build through the trenches, and then we just completely ignore all that for whatever reason. It's fucking time. Lol.

I would consider this draft a pretty big disappointment if we don't draft an OT, 3Tech, and Edge rusher with 3 of our first 6-7 picks or so. Especially since this is a pretty deep CB draft. Get one later.

I'd love Van Ness in a trade down he's similar to Preston Smith who didn't start in college and was also just a rotational pass rusher with good NFL coaching he could be special but don't pick him top 15 because that risk.
Wait, Preston Smith is a really good player? Who knew? I was told every player on the Packers roster sucks and now that they are moving on from Aaron Rodgers they will never win another game.

Taking Van Ness over Myles Murphy in the first round would be colossal mistake.

Who said that? Preston Smith is getting old 31 years old next season. Packers need some youth.

I like both but both will be projects.

The only issue I have with that is that bolstering your secondary is cool and all, but what good is a decent secondary when you have the worst dline in the league?

Same with how we got a QB. We drafted a QB, and had no oline and no weapons. How is he going to succeed? I really wish the Bears focused on the trenches at some point. Now would be a good time...

Everything cant be fixed in one off season. Go best player available if you bring this mentality of "We need to force fix defensive line now even though we have a star CB in front of us you're going to be really disappointed when the season starts"

Yeah, 30 years old is ancient for a OLB/Edge.?

The Packers also have Rashan Gary who is 25. I'd be very surprised if the Pack looks at either Van Ness or Murphy at pick 15.

Gute is more a BPA guy anyway. If 2 players grade about the same then you factor in need.

To me, Van Ness is a 2nd round talent. I saw him play a lot at Iowa and wasn't overly impressed.

Murphy would not be a complete disaster at 15, but I do doubt Gute goes Edge there.

Kincaid is in Green Bay today. I'd be happier with a TE at 15 than Van Ness. That pick is not happening.?

Kincaid is a beast he can't block for the life of him but they may be able to develop him.

I honestly don't like the talent in this draft below the top ten lots of projects, slot guys, nickel CB's.

Don't be surprised if the Pack brings back Big Dog(Marcedes Lewis) That's your blocking TE. You need one good blocking TE and one cat that is a good route runner/pass catcher in LaFleur's offense. Tonyan was not the same after his knee injury. Why Bobby was expendable.

I also like Mayer and Darnell Washington at TE. The Packers will most likely draft 2 TEs in this draft. Just not sure about one in the first round, but don't hate it if one of those 3 is the guy.

It's time to support our QB to find out what he can be. Thankfully, I think the GM understands this and will not make the same mistake as last year.

Go talk about the Packers on the Packers board, no one here gives a shit about them. This was a thread about the Bears and their 9th pick, not the Packers.

Judging by all the comments on this thread, there is no way there are not pissed off people. Which makes draft night even more fun here lmao.

PackerNation is actually right. If Murphy is available, the Bears should take him IMO. That is assuming Wilson is already gone. The Bears need pass rushers even more than they need an OT. And Murphy helps the Bears on day 1. Van Ness does not. Smith might be an option if both are gone but people are going to be be really pissed if he is drafted.

If they choose not to go pass rusher, it has to be OT. Skoronski or Johnson.

There is no way Wilson, Murphy, Skoronski and Johnson are all gone and if they are, someone is going to be looking to move up to get Levis.

He'll excel at G if not OT so wouldn't hate that pick.
I would take him and put him right at CENTER where I believe he'll perform among the best CENTERS in the league.

With so many hybrid defenses around the league sporting dominant SHADE/NTs, your offense should look to have a ROCK at the CENTER position.

Skoronski would give the Bears the best CENTER they've had since KRUETZ.

I would love the Skoronski pick. Especially after 2 seasons of watching Mustipher getting the QB killed.

I just don't think BPA is a luxury that bad teams with lots of holes can employ. What if BPA is a safety/rb/qb/etc.? Draft them when we need to fix the trenches desperately?

BPA is great if used with caveats. And full BPA is great when you waltz into a draft with a team ready to compete for a Super Bowl.
