What realistic move would you need the Bears to make to get you excited about this season?

LOL! You think it was just journalists who had Trubisky as the top prospect???? It was people such as scouts who know a helluva lot more about football then you.

I'm not making the pick. And I've already said what I think is irrelevant.

Pace gets paid to get it right. He had 3 options at QB and he picked the worst one.

I'm not "crying about it" but neither am I trying to sweep it under the carpet with this "some scouts thought Trubisky was good so he gets a pass" BS.

You are absolutely crying about it. I would suggest that if what the GM of your favorite team bothers you so much, you should really re-evaluate what's important in life.

I'd like to see us sign a solid FA RG to solidify the OL and get a EDGE player. We then use our two first round picks to address TE and an EDGE player (I think this is a spot we need to double down on).

It goes without saying that our TE play last year set a new low for the modern NFL in terms of production and that was a huge factor in why our offensive was so horrible.

We MUST get some players that can take the pressure off Mack and I think Pace will address it in FA and the draft.

Of course there aren't many moves I'd say were bad. Get a speed WR - great idea. Get a top tier CB in the draft - you bet. Get an OT in the draft so we can move on from what we have - brilliant. Draft guys to play ILB as we could loss 3 or our top 4 guys - I'm on board.

Gonna take a lot more than one move. Need a starting safety, TE, RG just to start.
I think there will be several safeties we can look at that can fill the role more like Amos did and let Jackson patrol deep like he did 2 years ago. Also, you can find guys to play that role with our 4th round pick. So safety is a clear need, but I think it might be the easiest to address.

You would obviously know how a complete stranger on an internet forum is feeling lol.

Pace has done some good, it's not like I have some vendetta against him. Just of the opinion he is lucky to still be employed.

It's called nuance.

Leno is a must bench until he proves able to return to form. Even an average LT to man that spot would be the first step. Massie's spot is 2nd. Then a decent TE. Do that and I cautiously hope new coaching can get the run game going. All that before I can get remotely excited.

Replacing Ha-Ha could allow Eddie Jackson to return to his natural position where he thrived in '18.

Backup QBs both as draft developmental guy and vet on short contract would also help a lot - either to take over or push Mitch to be better than the pedestrian '19 season.

All that & I could hope to think about maybe considering the possibility of excitement in August.

For me it would be drafting another QB high in the draft. We already know what Mitch is and I don’t want to waste anymore time hoping he develops into a top 15 QB.

Thoughts
IMO theres a ton of draft talent at QB, WR, CB, OLB, TE in this draft. Get good players at any of those positions & Ill be happy. Especially at QB #1 & EDGE#2. Floyd isnt cutting it.

It looks as if Austin Hooper will hit free agency. If the F.O. could pull that off Id be very happy.

When I see talk of the Bears linked vet QBs the only move I like & like ALOT would be a trade for Carr if the price tage is reasonable. I believe Carr still has statistical upside that could be hit in the right situation.

Carr has never had alot of weapons around him & the only real weapon he did have was traded to Dallas. Yet he can still put up a fairly efficient 4000 yard season. I believe Carr could very well play to a top tier level in Chicago with a couple of the right moves made around him.

I think if the Bears upgraded TE, Oline, between FA & the draft & were able to pull off a reasonable trade for Carr, theyd be tough to beat, for anyone.

I always get excited for Bears football.

I'd like to see a speedster WR
I do hope Pace plucks a WR from this draft & a WR with speed to really stretch the field. Outside of Cohen there really isnt anyone who can add that element.

You can make a solid case for the top 10 WR prospects having solid careers at the pro level. Same goes for CB.

Mass ritual suicide by everyone above player level. That would get me excited that something might change.

The fact that Pace missed with Trubisky is damning but in and of itself not worthy of calling for his head (at least debateable).

The fact that he has yet to produce a consistent winner out of the Bears and may have missed wholesale on his HC ... or at the very least missed wildly on his pairing of handpicked HC with his handpicked QB is why I predict doom for the Bears in 2020 and ultimately this whole regime.

Obligatory "hope I'm wrong but fear I am not".
