I like how that goof showed up on a hockey forum I lurk in. Funny his posts remind me of someone else..................

I occasionally post on a hockey forum as well... Strange.

That's great, find a guy that really doesn't like it here and make him a mod.

Is that what he said on the mod application form? What did the rejects say?

hahaha I never said I didn't like it here. If I didn't, I wouldn't even be a lurker.

A dark theme, this bright shit can **** off. Gimme a color scheme similar to the old CCS Bears style color theme

Yeah, there is a lot of stupid banter that happens here and that's fine. If you don't like it, just start reading another thread, there is actually plenty of good discussion that happens here. I'll never understand why people want it to be super serious Bears footbaw talk all the time and *****/moan at anything else calling it a troll. I like coming on here at down times during work and don't always want to read a Mitch/Mahomes/Watson debate. It's nice to catch a @Urblock style drunk posting, FML raging on viagra or the classic 'Ima **** tonight' type posts that really keep me coming back.

For me, it wasn't necessarily the lack of "serious talk."

It was the same conversations over and over again. At the time I started lurking, the Bears forum was just Cutler 24/7. I was involved in many of those, and it just got tiring. In the Bar/B&I, it was just a back and forth with Brett about the same topic. I also get bored easily, so the repetitive conversations or the same jokes being said over and over grows stale pretty quickly.

Once I started lurking, if I saw someone post something I would have written, I just like their post and keep reading. I don't see the point of repeating what's been said by 10 other people. Plus, even though I didn't share my thoughts here, I've probably shared it with numerous friends or people at work, so I don't feel like saying it all again sometimes.

A good friend of mine is in here all the time reading and lurking, he has never logged in much less posted, the guy is shy. It's a shame, the guy is a FF expert, articulate and very well informed on all things sports and current events. He also has a great sense of humor meaning he laughs at my jokes.
The best Fantasy Football expert is the one who remains quiet about it. :)

This guy would never call himself an expert, I will because he's been kicking my ass for a few decades.

Back when it was called rotisserie football??????

Hell yes live auction in a bar or house, the comish would compile stats from the official source for stats, The Sporting News. The first time we did it online the draft was in a chat room, and waivers were decided by e-mail time stamps to the comish. Week 2 1998 the loaded Vikings, (Carter Moss) QB Brad Johnson is hurt, Randall Cunningham comes in, I have my email open while I'm watching games for this very reason, I send an add drop e-male to the comish and beat out another guy by less than 10 seconds. Cunningham has a monster season (for that time) and I win the league.

Played in a league where we had to use newspapers and ESPN to keep/tally scores. Had to call your opponent on the land based phone line for line-ups. So I was a fantasy nerd way, way before it was cool. Not sure I ever made it to cool, though.

It's never been cool but it's always been fun. Except for that one season when @dabears70 was the commissioner, I've been playing rotisserie/fantasy football, baseball, or basketball for 35 years and db70 was the only thing that has ever fucked up a great time, and even that was interesting, not on a FF level, but it was entertaining watching a person melt down in real time, I know that sounds mean, but it was like watching a train wreck in slow motion, it was compelling, impossible to ignore.

I've only played one year. Last year, in two leagues. I won't play in one of them again because I hated the app they used and they made everyone auto draft.

The other league I actually won, but I had to call out an obvious cheat which led to some bickering and ultimately one person quiting the league.

It was kind of the commissioners fault as they didn't have any oversight on trades (no approval or veto power) and the dude who'd lost four of his first five games traded his girlfriend Antonio brown and desean Jackson for two total trash players.

Overall though I had fun and played against my wife (her first time as well) in the championship game.

I'm sure I'll come in last this year as I used up all of my beginners luck.
