oh get the **** over it. it was a joke from the cbmb that was explained in the thread itself. It should have been blatantly obvious that the misspelling was deliberate

IM aware it was a joke, guests won't know that just from reading the title though and to be honest if I wasn't a member and I saw that I wouldn't be very enticed to post there.

well from the reception the cbmb got, I didn't think you all were fond of guests or new posters

I think some of us are overwelcoming to new posters.

If you know what I mean ;)

I am, I think you're confusing me with some others around here. I am open to new posters, mostly because we need more depaul fans.

yes, I was making a general statement. anyway, I thought the (my) thread you quoted was just a harmless joke that had reasonable content (the day's news). We're not curing cancer here

I have no problem with the content nor the creator (you) I just think it's not the best way to present it but to each their own. Fisch :gtfo: with your ND crap

I understand if it's part of a joke, but when I see a thread that spells Rodgers as Rogers I cringe. I realize that's a simple spelling error, but if you really are a Bears fan you have probably seen that prick's name so many times you should know how to spell it.

Also, too many spaces or none at all. If it is OT put OT: Thread Title. Don't use a whole fucking sentence, IT IS A TITLE. It should just be a word or two like for example, not being a "hater": Instead of "I Think DJ Williams is Going to Hold Down MLB for a While" write DJ Williams Long Term MLB. Also, Each word that is of importance aka not the, a, an, etc. should be capitalize. I realize this is being a grammar nazi, but it looks so much nicer. I swear some of you are not educated.

I am a fan of grammar and correct contextual spelling. The other day, Peter 'Coffee' King tweeted one of his articles about Peyton Manning as one of the best QB's still playing (thanks for the newsflash, as always) but King spelled Peyton's name 'Payton'. I called him on it but he had already deleted the tweet.

That said, we could all stand to lighten up. Football season is upon us.

Everybody makes mistakes. If I were to even look back on the last post I'm sure there are grammatical errors. There's a line between honest mistake and making the site look bad. The Rodgers or Rogers thing isn't a big deal. It just irked me a little.

In the Bulls forum, is there a way we can sensor out JR Smith or Ben Gordon any time they're typed into a post? Kind of like when somebody uses the N word or refers to somebody as a bundle of sticks? It would seriously improve my quality of life if those two names never showed up in a post again.

LOL, that will backfire.

Just think about who does most of that posting. They'll likely see your comment here, and flood your VM wall with images.

On vBulletin, is there any way to make it so that we get notifications when we get quoted? I was on another forum, IP Board I believe they were using, and whenever someone quotes your post, you get notified. I thought that was kind of cool.

Yes, but no. The method the mod uses has issues. The way phpbb or IPB work, they could implement the changes without stability problems, just because of how posts are built in the database. I personally don't like how vBulletin structures the database, but that's just my opinion. Any vBulletin site that might use a mod that notifies on quote, will bend over backwards to get it working without disrupting other desired features.
