Can we fix the ignore feature? Apparently it isn't working for PretentousBastard.
Or just make it a blanket feature for all the ex-CBMBers.Can we fix the ignore feature? Apparently it isn't working for PretentousBastard.
To make this a better site, what would you like to see?
Feedback/Suggestions welcome.
Less evil sinners on the board.
Poster A: How are you?
Poster B: I'm fine.
Poster A: That's great.
Poster B: Thank you.
If possible, can you guys add a notification feature. The only time that I know if someone quoted my post is by going back to re-read the thread. It would be nice to know the moment they quote me. I don't want other posters thinking that I'm purposely ignoring them.
Another request would be to allow more than one quote visible in a conversation. For example, if someone quotes this particular post & I decide to quote them, this particular post would be left off the conversation. It makes for a better conversation when something similar is visible:
Thanks for responding man. Are you talking about the notifications or the "quotes & conversations"?I think that would be more annoying than not for most posters. I suppose if the default is always off. I don't know if this is even possible though, that's up to Crystallas to tell us.

I will PM you an example of what I'm talking about in regards to the "quotes & conversations".
Yes, but no. The method the mod uses has issues. The way phpbb or IPB work, they could implement the changes without stability problems, just because of how posts are built in the database. I personally don't like how vBulletin structures the database, but that's just my opinion. Any vBulletin site that might use a mod that notifies on quote, will bend over backwards to get it working without disrupting other desired features.
And to add to that point of notification on quote, if something clean comes out, then that would be a game changer. Right now I don't see these issues getting fixed within vBulletin, because we are seeing a shift in object standardization from php to node.js for most message function web software, and that also means database standards are also being thrown around. Thus why any big modification like this, at the present time, remains a bad strategy for the future of the forum.
Once something a bit more migratable(non-standard word for being able to migrate) is stable and comfortable to use, then that would open the door for such mods. Basically me saying that sites that have done the work a while ago will either; lose the feature soon enough, the admins have far more time than I do to get everything compatible, or lastly they will be using modules that some don't consider all that secure.
I like you but you are crazy man!
