Enemy territory...
The Giants WIN in the playoffs. The Giants WIN World Series.

The Cubs have a Baltimore Orioles transplant (best player) and some sophomore/junior players that are VERY good.

But they're not going to win the World Series.

They're gonna... Cubs.

Sorry the Sox suck again.

Metrics aside, my gut tells me this still is not our year. They are plenty talented but so freaking young. They looked awestruck in the NLCS last year and I don't see how they come on like steely eyed vets this year. Maddon's stay loose and have fun approach is fine now but October is a different animal, especially if Arrieta doesn't have his best stuff, like in game 2 last year.

I'd be very happy to be wrong, of course.

Why you add a veteran or two at deadline that has both playoff experience and can help team win

Why ? Cause they have tons of it with their young guys?

Plus.. I'm only talking adding a guy in pen with that experience and either on bench or if they make that big move with Soler, then maybe LF.

You bring "playoff expereince" in when you are missing something like team unity, maturity, confidence, etc. The Cubs aren't missing those things. With any roster change I would be more concerned with messing with chemistry that's why Chapman or Papelbon is not good for this team

I agree to a point....

We're not talking a total overhaul here, just 1 or 2 in a needed spot... Their most likely going to get someone, might as well get someone with that experience..

Not messing with Chemistry, it actually gives a team a boost most of time seeing management going for it all..

Besides Wood Strop and Rondon, take your pick out of pen

Soler most likely guy moved if they get a guy like Miller for pen or just dump Coghlan...

What skid? Cubs are on a 2 game winning streak. Anyway, they'll probably hit a rough patch or two before the season's over, as will teams like Texas, San Francisco, etc.
That's the way baseball is.

And what happens with the Cubs when the playoffs come has nothing to do with the Cubs being the Cubs. This team has nothing to do with the '69 Cubs or the '84 Cubs or the '89 Cubs or the '03 Cubs.....etc....Mark Grace and Leon Durham and Bill Hands aren't on the team anymore.

Texas is do for a drop off. They arent this good. I get all their games on my broadcast area. They are a good team, but a ton of over achievers and everything is breaking their way. Rotation is not that good and bullpen is used weird. They are like 17-5 in one run games. Astros are going to give them a run before it is done.

San Fran has had an easier schedule then us. They are due for a losing streak.

It's not the players, it's the curse; that damn curse that has haunted Cubs baseball for 108 years :). When my dad was laying in hospice dying back on 2001, I told him to figure out what was going on with the Cubs when he headed up and get it reversed. He obviously had no power alone in Heaven to get 'er fixed. We need a serious act of God, the anti-Bartman cleansing. The lovable losers will be the lovable losers until they win a WS. The ball is in Theo's court. Maybe he has the power?

Texas has had one of the toughest. Yes the Cubs have had a harder schedule than the Giants, by one percentage point. Both the Cubs and Giants have to date had one of the five easiest roads thus far into the season.
