A walk is just as good as a hit(kinda).
Hate to use the power hitter argument since I don't think they are needed anymore but his job is to get hits and drive in runs.

His job is to get hits and drive in runs? Why would we pay a guy with a .200 batting average last year 10 million dollars to "get hits?" Think about that for a minute. And driving in runs isn't his fault, when the whole offense sucks. Driving in runs is a byproduct of where you hit in the line up. If the guys in front of you aren't getting on, you aren't going to have anyone on base to drive in.
Why would we pay him to get hits? Because our management believes in the fountain of youth for all players. No matter their age, the top of our lineup has been getting hits, Pena has not been producing.
He is batting .226 with the bases empty and is batting .103 with runners on base, a nice respective .136 with them in scoring position.
I didn't have a problem with the signing when it happened. I have a problem with him not getting hits.
I think he will have a huge May.
Pena is never going to hit for power.

2 HR in 2 games just kind of made that look bad lol
Look through thread. I've been saying he will hit for power. I posted that comment right after his HR today.
