MS, but thousands of people entered my profession (occupational therapy) with bachelor's degrees before my generation and they are as good or better. Now all the PT programs are going to doctorates (DPT), which means even more debt with no increase in income or autonomy. OT programs will follow suit, which is just stupid. I will probably get flamed for this, but my undergrad degree is in history and I don't ever regret that. From what I've seen, people who enter technical professions without any kind of liberal arts background aren't as good at writing or thinking critically.

During the very long and complicated path of my education I went to three big ten schools and wound up with an undergrad degree from a prestigious private college. When I finally decided to get my masters it had been so long that I had to retake a lot of intro courses so I did that at a community college - I thought that was the best part of my education. That and a lot of reading I did on my own in between quitting undergrad and going back to finish six years later.

Currently a sophomore majoring in either Biology or Kinesiology, I haven't made up my mind yet but I need to by the end of the semester. I'm leaning towards Kinesiology because I think it would be more beneficial because I want to become a Physical Therapist. The University has a DPT program and Kinesiology majors get great internship opportunities like the Atlanta Falcons Physical Therapy Centers.

How big is my educated dick? It's huge. Yet I come here most days and articulate in written form terribly. It show laziness. But kudos to all of you who punctuate properly. After all, every day is an interview right? I'm a Doctor.

I was curious about the magnetic properties of mercury (the element, not the planet) so I typed in some words which ultimately lead me to this;

The Meissner effect of superconductivity serves as an important paradigm for the generation mechanism of a mass M (i.e. a reciprocal range, where h is Planck constant and c is speed of light) for a gauge field. In fact, this analogy is an abelian example for the Higgs mechanism, through which in high-energy physics the masses of the electroweak gauge particles, W± and Z are generated.

so I'm learning something new, everyday, which is cool.

The overwhelmingly vast majority of you wont get that joke...which is like "irony" reduced to it's solid state.

(and, anybody that got that second joke is somebody I want to know and learn from)

this is just off the top of my head, but do mercury's magnetic properties have anything to do with the liquid having a reverse meniscus?

Interestingly enough, i had no idea about mercury's reverse meniscus until today when I was talking to a grad student in the lab.
