Figure this deserves a thread of its own, but when exactly is it going to be time to pull the plug on this coach?

This team certainly does not seem to be responding to anything he wants to do, no fire (sustained) and all Bowman seems to be doing is trying to get all his mistakes back on this team. Sure, shaw brings alot of energy, but you did not want him before, same with saad, second Krueger stint here ( who, if anyone wondered is getting 2 million us dollars to be on ZSC for the national league in switzerland Lions

This was the one thing the Bowmans were not allowed to do, and now that they have, can it be their time as well?

We all agree, nobody will take Seabroke, Keith, Toews, Kane is the only one someone probably wants, Crow is on his swan song, seems like this is definitely not the right voice after Q.

How can you question the coach without also rectifying the gm situation first?

I did though, being the last straw for the Bowmans. Kept getting guys that Q would not play of flat out did not fit the system, rookies got one chance with Q and end up scratched until they were demoted.

So you suggest Bowman first, get a new GM and let him get a new coach?

Exactly! I look at this way. By keeping bowman an extra year they

1. allowed him to make the pick with a game changing number three over all pick

2. he has made a million trades sticking us with a bunch of players that aren’t working out

3. we are now invested in a coach that looks way over his head

you are looking at bowman in one off season has just cost this franchise well 20 mil in meh right here lol. How can they let this disaster go on and make the next hc hire? And this is just analyzing one offseason of wtf. You already brought up all the untradeable contracts we are saddled with

you own the team or you are team president do you allow this guy make another move?

I guess it is who is going to be responsible to replace the GM. I thought McDonuts was the only guy entrenched behind Bowman. He felt he was saddled with Q and gave him so much credit for dealing with a coach he had no choice in hiring back when Q was fired. I thought he would have done it offseason last year, but it seemed they were waiting for the birth in the JC family.

Is it enough to just say let Marc Crawford take over?

I agree. Another angle to approach from is What has Bowman done to deserve to remain the G.M. if his hand picked guy turns out to be a complete bust in addition to the ineffective trades, poor draft performance, bad contracts, etc.

Bowman spent two seasons sandbagging the roster in order to be able to get rid of Quenneville and bring in "his guy." He took a big risk by bringing in a young, completely inexperienced guy; mainly because of his need to prove he is actually the smartest guy in the room and not riding his dad's coat tails. This was his Master Plan... and it is failing.
So, does he get another kick at the can by shoving Colliton under the bus? Not if I was in charge. They go down together.

As I said last night, somebody needs to wake Rockwell from his boozy slumber and lead him by the hand to the railing so he can see the ship is going down.

Unfortunately they also wasted a year. It should have been apparent to anyone with eyes that Crawford in 2017/2018 was masking the issues, and losing him at Christmas was not the reason the team sucked--The team sucked; he was just playing, out of his mind. Had management (especially Stan) latched onto that and let Q go in the summer before 2018/2019, the goalposts would have moved forward a bit. Instead we got partial JC for last season, and thus it was this past, and not last summer where it's "Okay, Stan, you got your guys--put up or shut up".

That being said I think they both do go down, the question is when. I think it's this coming offseason--I think, unfortunately for us the fans, that they won't be shanghaied mid-season. There might be a *slight* chance JC outlasts Stan (After all, Q outlasted Tallon), but I think they're a package deal.

We'll see though, it's still early and aside from our highest-paid players, the team actually looked good last game. I don't know if that will last or not and it's not like we beat a powerhouse yesterday, but it's a start. It's up to JC to get the boys to continue.

Colliton will have this year at least. I'd bet that he will be yet another fall-guy for Bowman, just like Quenneville was last year, at the beginning of the 2020-2021 season (assuming the Hawks don't make the playoffs this year and get off to a slow start next year). Of course, I would hope Bowman is finally fired, be it with Colliton or on his own, before anything.

I could see Stan let go, and Crawford named as "interim head coach" until the new GM figures out what he wants to do.

The one big thing is that the two main leaders Toews & Kane need to grow some balls and go to Wirtz and tell hime how they feel and what changes need to be made. They need to tell Wirtz why they are not and refuse to give their all each game. It is obvious that both Toews and Kane are really upset about something - whether it is the system, coach or management.

John McDonough worked for a few years with the Chicago Sting soccer club, then 20 odd years for the Cubs. He doesn't know a lick about running an NHL team. He joined the org at a time when it was on the cusp of becoming a turn-key Cup machine. All he had to do was market it properly, which he is excellent at and did very well. Now that it has come to having to actually man the helm in a storm, I'm not sure he has the foggiest clue on how to move forward, and IMO, change needs to begin at that level. Bowman, Blunk, MacIver et al are his employees...

One thing that was not mentioned much was the fact that the Kings didn't land in Chicago until like 2 in the morning. It's bad enough when you have a back-to-back, but when you're landing at that time, there's no doubt you'll be dragging ass.

I really don’t like that excuse Granada, the Hawks have been in that same situation many times and came out victorious, the real reason the Kings looked like garbage is simple, they are garbag.

I can see them going to Crawford and keeping stan where he is, try to save the season, I guess we see where the team is when Dach is at his 9 and what they do with him. He is definitely not one of the worst players on the ice, and I think there are more times where he looks like he belongs. I think it was finally a good decision to split Dach from Strome, cant play with a guy that pushed you off of your job in a year you are looking to get paid, but really cannot keep Cat, Carp and Strome as your fourth line can you?

Recently?

I'm not trying to use it as an excuse for the Kings necessarily -- I'm just using it as a rationale as to why I'm not exactly giddy from the win. They beat a garbage team that landed at 2 in the morning that day; I'll take it of course, but I won't jump for joy. That's all I'm saying.
