Where do you want to travel in the US/World?

With a couple travel suggestion threads for certain areas, thought this would be a good segway. Always looking for ideas on places to travel. Just went to Las Vegas and San Francisco in the last 3 weeks but need to settle back into my timezone because my time is all kind's of messed up.

Considering going to New York next, been there once before and did a bar tour on the way to the Jimmy V Classic in MSG.

NYC is cool only because it's NYC. I have been there twice and really when it gets down to it... it's just like a smaller/smellier version of Chicago.

Broadway is cool, MSG is cool, Statue of Liberty is cool and that's about it.

As for places I want to go:

1. Australia
2. Hong Kong
3. Alaska
4. Italy
5. Tokyo

If you are fond of major cities and not afraid of massive amounts of people...Tokyo is the best. Its like being in an ant colony that has bright lights, robots and crystal meth. I have seriously considered learning just enough Japanese to get a minimum wage job and live in a closet because its such an infatuating city.

I once spent about forty hours in Madrid and would love to do an entire summer in Spain. Everyone naps and eats after dark...love it!

I would also like to see more of Central America. I have heard fantastic things about Costa Rica.

I would love to go to Japan, but my wife has a seafood allergy. And I heard that basically every Japanese meal has some sort of seafood ingredient in it, even in supposed meat dishes b/c the sauces contain fish flakes. So Japan is probably impractical for me, unfortunately.

Peru, Cambodia, India/Sri Lanka, Madagascar. Those are the ones currently on my list (in no specific order).

I've already gotten southern Africa, Central America, and Germanic Europe done; so I plan on changing it up for the next epic journey. Pretty much all the listed places offer a chance to see amazing historic monuments (Madagascar not so much, but...) with natural beauty to boot. I've always wanted to go to the middle east (kind of an ancient history buff), but for obvious reasons that's not exactly on the table currently.

We should organize a CCS to Cuba trip.

NY city is 303 sq miles with a population of 8.4 mil.
Chicago is 228 sq miles with a population of 2.7 mil

Are you dumb?

No offense, but that's not an informed assessment of NYC, which is clearly one of the great cities of our time. NYC, Chi, LA - I see them all as equals, and a fly-by visit or two to any one of them isn't nearly enough to absorb the diversity and cultures.

I would revisit San Sebastian, have been several times and it's easily my favorite city (aside of San Francisco/home). Those that haven't been, you needs to get there.....

Good topic. BTW Rush, NYC is a bit overrated. It's basically a more crowded, more expensive, less fun version of Chicago.

As for me (in no particular order)

Boston
Seattle
DC
Minneapolis
Vegas
Rome
Venice
Florence
London
Sweden
Norway
Copenhagen
Amsterdam
Japan
Dubai

I'd love to hit all 50 states and 7 continents but I think that's a bit of a reach.

Wait until you're at least 21 before you go to Vegas.
