If I was a patient and physically able to walk, I would have left that hospital the moment I realized that my well-being was in the hands of someone who believed that.

She was actually a really good therapist and didn't proselytize. I think people were just showing how terrified they felt that day and they weren't in touch with their clearest thinking.

I was in first grade. I was walking the hall and heard the book fair was cancelled. I was sad. Then I saw what happened. Then I was more sad. I don't think I fully understood the implications of the event like I did now but I understood that "two planes had crashed into the world trade center towers". Which, I mean, seemed pretty big.
