I'll be happy to be wrong, but I just got a bad vibe about this season and think that they might miss out narrowly (like 3 seasons back).

They just seem to lack drive enough to put it together when it counts... which isn't necessarily to say I think they would have a losing record.

I can certainly see this...

Kane, Toews, Hossa and Keith will HAVE to carry the load...Sharp has had a good season, but how long can we expect to keep up that scoring pace (he already looks to be slowing down)

Even with the addition of Frolik, I'm still sticking with missing the playoffs.

Beating a shit Oilers team did nothing to change my tune.

They've been playing pretty well lately. I think they are going to start rolling and slip into the playoffs...

sure. they wont do alot of damage imo.

and anyone who says "but the flyers did it last year" needs to get rid of their homerism. fools gold.

Im still saying we make the playoffs, but somewhere in the 6-8 range.

And you cant just discredit what the flyers did last year (even though I dont think the hawks can put up the same stretch) just because in your opinion it cant be done again...Montreal and Philly both made runs from lower seeds, and it could definately be done again, especially in a western conference where the 4th and 8th seed will likely be seperated by less than 10 points

making runs, and being a stanley cup contender are two different things. but hey, if you want the kool aid, il give you mine.

i want another cup, another championship...not a "run"

I think the NHL playoffs are the best in sports because as long as you get in, who knows? The Hawks are good enough to compete with anyone in a seven-game series.

well i dont see the hawks as really stanley cup favorites or contenders, but if we put together a nice run in the playoffs, it will definately take some sting out of how poorly they have played this year

There is always a low seed that makes a run. Whats wrong with making a deep playoff run even if you come up short? Ya you want to win championships but its still crazy intense.

...considering that they seem to hold none of the tie-breakers --- they have to make it with more points than the #8 seed .. unless something drastic happens.

Philly... Monty...

They showed that you just have to make it in, so I'm just focusing on that right now.

I saying 5th or 6th seed, although, I hope we get to face the Nuckers! We always seem to be able to get into their heads, and they HATE to play us, especially in the post season!!!
