I used to say why users were banned publicly, but not any more. The same individuals that complain about why a user isn't banned will make posts asking why that very poster got banned the next day. :mindblown: The user that gets banned has a ban message that shows up. They know why, and sometimes they act like they don't, but that message is there when they log back in(or they can ask the staff if they are unclear upon return). At that point it is only between the user and the staff.
If you want to know why someone got banned. They likely violated the rules or ignored requests by the staff. We have an incentive to drive activity here and promote the site's environment(as written by Rush in the About Us section on every page at the bottom of the forum), so simply banning users because we don't like them is out of the question.

Are you serious? I feel disgusted that I used to defend this guy on the Scout forum before he was banned from the regular sections there and regulated to subscriber area and in the podcast stuff... but he was just as douchey when he arrived here... but that he doesn't like The Big Lebowski... I just can't accept I once stood up for that.
