Heard he was looking for like 3 years and between 4-6 million per. Kinda expensive for a super sub. He makes a lot of contact, but no power and no speed and average d. As a sub and maybe less than $4million per, ok. Starting 3b. No thanks

Da blurb:

Jeff Keppinger will sign a three-year deal with the White Sox, according to Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com (via Twitter).

Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports reported this morning that the Sox were one of a handful of teams in on Keppinger, who was expected to land a two- or three-year contract. Estimates yesterday put the price tag for a three-year deal for Keppinger around $13MM, so we'll see what Chicago ends up paying for the utility man.

Keppinger, 32, is a career .288/.337/.396 hitter, and is coming off an excellent season with the Rays, in which he posted an .806 OPS in 418 plate appearances. He spent time at first base, second base, and third base in Tampa Bay last year.

Nice timing with article.

I hate this deal. $12-$13 million for a part time player that will be 33? I was wrong with Youkie. I hope I am wrong here, but his history says BARF!

if they get hananhan beckham is a goner.

If Beckham goes there goes the White Sox chances of the playoffs for 2013. (Not that it looks possible anyways)

You all forget how bad we are with awful defense. Beckham hits in the two hole and his OPS is better (Mid May til Youkie was acquired) than we've had in some time.

Keppinger is no lock to play 140+ games either.

Why not keep Beckham as your utility guy then? Or platoon Keppinger somewhere since he's more of a lefty-masher?
