Will never understand WHY we drafted him when you had a RB in place, and why we gave up a LEADER of this team for this goof. He was a headcase who never wanted to play for the Bears in the first place. I know we got to the Superbowl with him, but this one just irked me right from the beginning.

YET ANOTHER FAIL BY ANGE"LOOF"....

Anyone remember Jeremy Lincoln? Or John Thierry? Or Terry Cousin? Todd Johnson? Enis, Mike Green, Michael Timpson, Terrel, Haynes, Bryan Cox, the list goes on. There were some very terrible players in the 90s, especially in the Wannstedt era. I'm glad I was too young to realize everything that was going on at the time, otherwise I might have offed myself when he made that trade for Mirer.

Worst players or busts? Sometimes it's both, but if you want the worst players, they are the guys who rot on the bench. Not the backups that are groomed to start.

Bears QBs from 1989-2008

Also, Starting Lineups ruled. I have Mike Singletary and Walter Payton somewhere.

You really should have said 2009.

I am going with Michael Haynes in the recent past- 14th overall, 2 starts over a 4 year career.
he stank out loud.

the only reason nobody focused on him as a supreme bust was because Grossman was drafted the same year. 2 for one bust draft.

at least most of the other guys on this list were semi-functional for a while. Haynes never developed, never contributed a thing.

People keep mentioning below average players who were not horrible, just disappointing.

As much as Rex sucked at times, he still helped us get to a SB. He played lights out for half of that season and did more for the Bears than David Terrell or Michael Haynes or any of these idiots did. To put him in that category is disingenuous.

Rex is still a bust. Just because he put together a few good games behind a great defense doesnt mean anything. But he did more than Haynes ever did and a few of these others guys, but to me, he's still a bust.

The explosiveness of Rex's offense over the first half of the season is the reason the Bears had the 13-3 record they did, and the #1 seed. He's a big part of the reason that NFCC game was played in Chicago. He also engineered the offense we needed to get past the Seahawks in the playoffs when the defense was falling off a little. Had he gotten injured again in that season, the Bears don't go to Miami.
