That’s completely subjective. Monken has a much longer and sustained history of top-level play calling over a variety of teams and rosters of varying strengths. That’s just a fact. That’s not a shot at Johnson. He’s had a few years of really good play calling experience with 1 team.

Respectfully disagree. He hasn’t been the second fiddle to the HC who also calls the plays or a star QBs water boy. Again, he is the one who has installed and implemented his system for many years with great success.

It is much more of a probability that Johnson is this year’s version of Getsy or Nagy. For the record, I don’t think he will be, as I think he’s at least got a few years of play calling experience. But there’s a higher probability of that than Monken.

Does he come with Derrick Henry? To be fair, he significantly improved TBs passing game when there and now is again using the the strengths of the team to win. Not a square hole round peg guy.

By the same token, it seems all anyone talks about is BJ as a passing game coordinator while the Lions run game has also been pretty great.

They didnt have derrick henry last year and he made Lamar look much better in the passing game.

He's also been doing this at multiple levels a LOT longer than ben johnson.

Monken literally has interviews with 3 out of 4 of the teams that ben johnson is meeting with, and the only one he doesnt(patriots) are likely hiring vrabel and interviewing very few candidates. Pretty sure outside the two DEI guys the pats only interviewed vrabel and johnson.

Has been successful OC at several stops and levels, as well as head coaching experience at Southern Miss, a big enough program to matter, IMO.

I was wondering who the fan would be that would weigh in Robert Mays' choice.
