I believe the trainer is available to them at the facility if they choose to train there as allowed. I just don't think he can dictate their off time.
Correct. They can, and do, write up plans for the players to follow. But players are on their own to implement it, as most don't stay in Chicago all offseason.

Listening to a conversation on the radio about this, and the question came up about TOO much lifting, creating a condition where the muscle puts too much strain on the tendons.

There is some truth to that.

I find it hard to believe that the Bears are just lifting more than any other team out there and that's why these injuries are happening.

When it comes to each teams weight training regime and volumes across the league, I bet that many of them are similar. There is a science to it and these guys are or at least should be monitored in regards to their training volume.

  1. San Jose Sharks
  1. Miami (Ohio) Redhawks
  2. Notre Dame Fighting Irish
FIX the damn field once and for all. It can't be overlooked how that factors in to perhaps season wear-n-tear. It certainly limits play-calling I'd say.

I don't believe the injuries are just dumb luck when the Bears "lost games" # s are so high, has to be something there.

Im little hesitant to blame the training staff for all these injuries, but if youre the most injured team in the league for 3 or 4 years in a row, any change is welcome.

The Bears being more injured than other teams is a crock of shit as I have just proven over the past 4 years we are about average.......no one bothers to do any research on this shit and we start calling for people to be fired.

here is the IR tracker per team for 2018(now)......Bears aren't even in the top half of the league of lost players to IR....

We are just closer to the Bears, so we see the damage up close.....

I see that list is like 9 out of 10 starters. And I wonder if the lists take into account starters vs back ups?

lets consider this.....how does that matter when considering if our trainers are doing a poor job.....I don't see any hard coded data on who were starters or not. I don't think there is magic in the water causing more Bears starters than any other team to lose time to injury....

Talent level starts to come into play....if you are a talented team top to bottom then the next man up theory is fine....if you are thin on talent then injuries cause problems.

It is much more a matter of talent and coaching deficient than trainer deficient.

Yeah I wasn't making excuses. I just made an observation and was curious.

here are the top 10 teams of combined salary that are on IR

http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/injured-reserve/2017/

CmzE7B3.png

top 3 are no surprise because of tannehill, palmer, and watt.....the bears highest salary player on IR was kevin white at only $4mill

which means that our injuries are spread out amongst a larger number of our starters compared to one dude taking up $15-20 million of the total number and then a bunch of end of roster guys

get better players on our bench....also all contracts are not even.....a higher contract does not mean you are a better player......and technically if all of outr IR players are low income that means they are less talented right?

The salary numbers mean very little.
