I didn't get to watch him play in my lifetime but collected enough video and entire 85 season plus Super Bowl to know its Walter. I'm a fanatic of his I even bought his autographed jersey from a forum member on the offish site when it was still going and got it framed.

On defense it's too many to list but modern times urlacher hands down

For me it is Dick Butkus. There hasn't been a football player who totally dominated the field like #54 did. He looked like a bad ass vulture out there when he attacked the ball carrier and who can forget how he loved to run over people when he intercepted a pass or picked up a fumble. I also remember him as a high school fullback at CVS and how the defending players shit themselves as they attempted to bring him down.

I'm a younger fan, so my time of really watching football started around the time Urlacher was drafted. With that said, Hester is my favorite Bear. He brought so much excitement to the game even if it was only for a few seconds. Jeffery is a distant second. Urlacher and Vasher round out my top 4. It's hard to pick though as there are a multitude of guys to choose from.

That will be 51 Our Fathers and 51 Hail Mary's. If this continues, you may be put to death by Public Stoning.

Hester, just because every kick you felt he might take it to the house.

Love Mike. He's unofficially #2 on my list. The vid brought a tear to my eye. How can a team go wrong with Payton on your offense and Mike on your defense?

Gary Fencik!!
Fencik was excellent. The real Hit Man. All my time watching the NFL, I've never seen any player who was as consistently able to arrive with his hit just as the ball arrived, AND hit the receiver so he'd drop the ball. Not to mention being the Bears all-time leader in interceptions.

Being able to hit a player is all well & good, but if they don't drop the ball, it doesn't help the WIN column.

The Fencik video on this page is probably the vid on the web for Fencik:

If we ask Aaron Rodgers who his favorite 'bear' is, we'd get a decidedly different answer.

But my favorite Bears are Walter on offense and Hampton on D. Largely because of gotten to know him a bit and he's a really good dude.

Least favorite? Brandon Merriweather or Steve McMichael
