I didn't say he was bad, I said he wasn't consistent like you said. And I'm not using individual games, but groupings. Half his games were stellar, the other half were awful.

He had 18 QS out of 32 starts. That's more good than bad. And to say awful is extreme. He isn't anywhere near as bad as you think.

Again, I didn't say he was bad, I said he was inconsistent, contrary to your initial claim.

I could also say that he is consistent. The fact of the matter is that that isn't enough of a sample size. Even if he is inconsistent, he still ended up with some pretty good numbers.

Numbers weren't that good.

And we weren't arguing quality, we were arguing consistency.

awww jesus christ. Randy Wells talk again?!

as I do not like Randy Wells, the fact of the matter here is, gorzo will probably be gone. so i would place wells as the 5th starter. if they dont move z than here is the rotation

z
demp
garz
wells 4th or 5th
cashner 4th or 5th

silva has to go.

What are you basing that off of? Because I see 5 starts where he gave up just 3 runs. He needed run support.

Is Garz a type-o, or is that his nickname, or is it just for short?

(Serious Question BTW)

I want Silva gone, but I read no one wants him. Hello LR duty!

I'm not basing this off W-L anyway, so what does run support have to do with it?

Oh, my bad. What are you basing this off of?

I'm basing this off of how he'd give up 6+ runs, or be stellar, at different points. You should know I don't care about W-L.

EDIT: Only daddies likes that stat.

Let me ask you this, no money involved, would you rather have Wells or Burnett?

IDK, I haven't followed Burnett in a while. Gimme his FIP, ERA, ERA+, xFIP, K/9, K/BB, BB/9, etc.

Looks like Wells may have been better:
Compare Baseball Players
I did season-by-season for him and Burnett, and there stats were pretty close.

Burnett has a pretty good rep and was far more inconsistent than Wells last year. Wells had like 6 starts of 6+ runs. That's not that bad, especially considering his max was 7. The point here is that just because Wells isn't the big name and you remember the bad, doesn't mean he isn't good.

This goes out to everyone, you guys need to give him a lot more credit. He is a very solid pitcher, for free basically.

Except Burnett isn't really good either.

Over the course of his career, he has been a very, very good pitcher. I read a comparison that said that Cashner could be a Burnett. That'd be great.

I bet Burnett does quite well under Larry.
