I'm basing this off of how he'd give up 6+ runs, or be stellar, at different points. You should know I don't care about W-L.

EDIT: Only daddies likes that stat.

Ouch.....i like wins cause some SP just know how to win...With low 3 ERA or 4 ERA they just seem to win. Teams are judged by wins and wins start with SP for teams.

Sorry, not to be an insult, just saying that you are the only one who has the point of view.

I sound like an asshole today, even Dews hates me now. ;)

I'm running a sim to project Garza at Wrigley. Won't be perfect, as Mogul 2012 isn't out yet, so Castro may suck, etc.

My sim put him at a 3.18 ERA. Nothing special.

Yeah, nothing special. It wouldn't like put him into the top 15 in the NL or anything. It wouldn't put him ahead of players like Carpenter, Hanson, Lincecum, Billingsley, and Cueto. Nah, he nothin' special.

You know what I meant CO.

Not like he was the next Halladay or anything. Solid if he does that well, but not going to make the Cubs good.

Yeah, it's not like he was in the top 25 in terms of value this year. We're definitely not going to win with a pitcher who has high value.

Garza doesn't make us good. We'll still suck.

Why are people saying Cashner? If they want him in the rotation he needs to really stretch his arm back out. He would probably be best served to spend the first half of the season in the minors stretching out his arm.

He doesn't need to spend a half season in the minors, as long as we throw him like 150 IP. He has been a starter for his whole career, sans last year.

Ya, until late May, he was always a starter.

He was a closer at TCU, but maybe you don't count that as part of his career. I do.

He spent a half a season as a reliever in the majors. He will need to get his arm stretched out to be a starter, or else he has no shot of getting out of the 3rd/4th inning.

I always wanted him as a starter. But the sheer need of a bullpen arm last season pretty much ruined this shot at cracking the rotation to start 2011.

Now if the Cubs have been stretching him out over the winter then maybe he has a chance, but i haven't seen anything saying that the Cubs have been doing that.

He's stretching out to be a reliever right now. Did Dempst go down for the first half of .08? No.

Yeah, he was a closer at TCU... for one of his 4 seasons there. He spent a whole half season as a reliever here. Other than that, he was been a starter his WHOLE career and that is how the Cubs have been viewing him. Hell, before he came up last year he was a starter. He will be fine.

I'd like to see Coleman get a good chance..

i liked what coleman did last year but dont see him as a good MLB SP. Rather see Cashner get 5th spot to see if he can do it....i think 1-4 is set with Demp,Garza,Z,Wells

I think it is going to come down to ST on who performs the best. I realllly hope it is Cash Money. I want to see what he can do.

He was only at TCU for 1 season. He was a JuCo transfer. Angelina Junior College. He was actually drafted by the Cubs with the 877th pick in the 2007 draft out of this JuCo. His only year he started in his entire college career was his sophomore season.

But somehow you will let me know I am still wrong.
