Assuming Nagy is coming back, it'll be in a possible lame duck year. Makes most sense to promote either ofmthe 2 defensive assistants currently on the staffwho were here under Fangio: DL coach Jay Rodgers or S coach Sean Desai.

It seems like talent is harder to come by for a 3-4 defense but I think a hybrid defense would be better.

With 80% of the league running a 3-4 or Nickel better than 50% of the time you deplete the resources in the draft as far as quality.

the bears are the last team to copy winning formulas.

it’s why they are who they are.

Problem is, Pace assembled some guys who aren't built for the 3-4 system like Quinn, Nichols
What the fuck are you talking about nichols is currently our best DE. Until hicks is healthy or stops fucking around.

Nichols is playing NT bruh.

He fucking sucks at it too..

Nichols has 1 man to beat and gets blown out of his gap most downs or can’t win with a pass rush move.

Hicks is getting all the attention.

Iffff big if. Nichols could bull rush he’d be setting up Quinn and Mack for sacks and turnovers. He can’t. The whole line is fucked.

I’m not understanding this angle. Ed Donatell has been Fangio’s DB coach and now defensive coordinator since 2011. He holds no allegiance with the Bears. Why would he leave Fangio for the same position in Chicago?
He wouldn't. These coaches don't make lateral moves.

No money to upgrade starters. The defense already has the horses to be top 5. What they need is an attitude adjustment. Someone to come in and restore swagger and confidence. Rex Ryan, to me is the only coach that can do that in 1 off season.

I think Kris Richard could be a good choice, but if changes come at the top - president and GM, but Nagy stays; then I could see Rodgers getting an opportunity.

Rather get a different couple of vets in there for DT and Woods. A rookie and a cheap FA perhaps. That would be better than those 2 bums

Rex Ryan would be a fun hire. Although, he did publicly say that the less Nagy does, the better the team plays....so I'm not so sure he would be on Matt the egomaniac's list of candidates.

Speak more about what you think someone you've never spoken with would do.

You post some really weird stuff. I can't tell if youare trolling or just enjoying pretending like you're the smartest guy in the room.

Does he call plays as defensive coordinator? If not he's a glamorized assistant coach.

It's probably going to be an internal candidate, because Nagy's seat will be pretty damn hot to start next year, barring some sort of miracle run in the playoffs.

My initial thought would be Jay Rodgers.

Wade would be fun. The days of soft defense would be over. He loves to send guys at the QB.

For all you guys saying Donatell, the Broncos will block that lateral move.

I think owners just made it so you can’t block a move from position coach to coordinator. Like in the last month.

Except Donatell is the D coordinator in Denver.
