I'm really thinking that it will be the Caps. With the addition of Vokoun they are a lot better.

And there's that whole thing about the year after playing in the WC, one of the teams wins.

Easily the best move of any team this offseason.

Trading an unproven young goaltender in Varlamov for a 2012 first (which could easily be a lottery pick) and a conditional 2nd round pick to the Avs (who were rumored to be after Vokoun). Then, they go ahead and sign one of my favorite, and I think more underrated, goaltenders in Vokoun for a ridiculously modest amount of $1.5mil a year. The Caps had 3 goaltenders that were under 25 years old start games for them last year and then all of a sudden they have a very solid vet.

Did I say I had an issue with you disagreeing that the Blackhawks would win the cup? I definitely didn't. I simply have an issue with how you do it, by belittling the other person and by making jackass/smartass comments about their post. Instead, try bringing reasons and an educated opinion to the table...I'm sure you know how to. Sure the Blackhawks have a chance to win the cup but obviously the odds are against them. Try reading the whole post before you freak out...or do you make it a pattern of doing things partially and then quitting when you realize there is no better way to save your ass??[/QUOTE]

ok you can use that once, maybe twice........but 10 times? cmon now. Do you need help getting new material? I can quit again if that helps you get a fresh comeback.

Just like the Huet thing? haha, atleast I can man up and admit when I'm wrong.

I was actually talking about your most recent quitting...which I find hysterical that you couldn't even stick it out in an online hockey league after you received a whooping...seems to be a pattern, as do most of your posts. And you can try and lie, but I was told the reason you left - so don't worry about it. No substance and all belittling of the poster/their opinion.

See, you just make excuses and then you quit.

You got beat 6 - 0 and then 6 - 1. I really don't want to have a pissing contest with online gaming, but what is your excuse for you scoring 1 goal and me scoring 12? All 12 were glitch goals? When I heard you said that I just about bust out laughing. I was the Pens and you were the Wings...not that much of a difference.

I said my piece, I'm done. I think how you treat people's post on here is pathetic. You give no reasoning most of the time when putting someone else done and to me you just don't bring much to the table - which is a shame because you probably could. Not much has changed I suppose.

again, the same thing over and over........center the puck, center the puck, rinse and repeat...plus the curve shot which was pretty funny.

Hawks.

A full season where the number 1 goalie is not in question.

Expecting large rebound years from Kane and Keith.

Seabrook continues to improve, especially offensively and on the powerplay.

Numerous off season signings that aim to fill the actual needs of the team - toughness and penalty kill- while adding some veteran leadership that should supposedly be welcome in the lockerroom.

Healthy Hossa? It would make a pretty large difference if it happens.

Johnny Toews.

^^^ This. A good look at key improvements for the Hawks.

I really like the Hawks this year.

There is no place in hockey for centering the puck, I completely agree...
What about the breakaways or the 2 on 1's? Weird how you forget. I rip on you for lame excuses and you go above and beyond on the next post, congrats.

All good points and all would definitely contribute to a winning season.

I am really curious to see how Keith rebounds. I think Kane played just fine last year and grew as a player, should be interesting to see how he does this year. What really worries me is that Keith said he was disinterested at times last year. I understand he played a ridiculous amount of hockey, but I really hope his head is in it this year. Keith used to be a stud at walking the puck across the blueline, 3 fake clappers, and then a low hard one...I hope he brings that back this year. I think everyone can agree that there were way too many shinpads hit last year by Keith.

Last year, the Caps didn't have the goaltending to win and became more defensive. Now that they have a solid goaltender to trust in, they can be offensive again and should be very good. They'll probably be in the Finals.

I think with the depth added on D, Seabrook greatly improving, and no returning awards to be won, Keith won't have as much pressure on him.

The Rangers could be a surprise team. They are a long shot but have some good tools for a run

Yeah, I thought Kane was alright last year too, but he's certainly capable of more. And I don't know how long it will last, but Kane centering Hossa could be huge for both of them. To me, that's going to be the most fun to watch as this season starts.

Agree about Keith. We all saw the difference he makes in the Vancouver series last year. He was literally controlling those games when he was on the ice. He didn't look very good in the pre-season action this year but that's not the end of the world.

One more... Hjalmarsson needs to decide what kind of player he's going to be. For his salary and his skill set, he needs to do more than block shots- he's better than that. He didn't really need to worry about carrying the puck when he played with Campbell, but now that he's gone- maybe Meatball will step it up. At the very least, I'd like to see him hit more. He's definitely capable of playing a stronger game than he showed last year.

kinda, they have probably one of the best in the NHL in net. They need to start building around him

Problem is their defense sucks and they have very little depth at forward.

Staal is still experiencing post-concussion symptoms, Gaborik is still made out of glass, and we have yet to see how Richards is going to fit in.

Should be interesting for them and I'm sure that will be due to Lundqvist.

I think the Hawks have a good chance to go to the finals for a couple reasons.

1. Kane has buffed up and looks very good at center with Hossa and Brunette.
2. Keith will be better without the pressure and having more time to rest and probably won't have to play as many minutes with more depth at D.
3. Young players like Smith, Stalberg, and Saad will help the Hawks be better than last year.
4. Crawford is a year older and doesn't look like he'll have a sophomore slump.
5. The Hawks actually have a fourth line that will do something now.
6. With a core like the Hawks have including Toews, Sharp, Kane, Keith, and Seabrook they always have a chance to win the cup.
