It's pretty simple, really. In the offseason, if Hahn decides on another year of rebuilding, RV is your manager. If Hahn goes the KW route - aka we will overpay for a free agent and/or give away our slim prospect pickings in a trade - then they MIGHT go after a different manager.

Overall, RV is probably here next year.

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago White Sox
  1. Chicago Bulls
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Army Black Knights
It doesn't really matter until they get a good nucleus of quality position players (Phegley? this Garcia kid? the guy from the Red Sox they received for Thornton?), but I'd prefer Dave Martinez or Sandy Alomar.

cool story and all but chris sale is NOT zomfgzz I haveszz to watchszz like it was when frank came up. is it nice to have a possible legit ace? yes. is it frank thomas :fap: worthy....nope. not even close.

Uh oh..you used the letter 'Z' Check Mate.

Hey look who's starting today....why it's Chris Sale. Shocking that our management is so inept to not sit the guy for the rest of the season.

The guy they received in the thronton deal is a couple years away at least. He's very raw still.

I like what I've seen from Phegley way more than Flowers.

Garcia is gona be a stud. At 22 he already has post season success on the big stage.

I'm hoping we make a run at a guy like Brian McCann or some kind of impact bat.

We also need to rebuild this bullpen.

If he blows out his arm this season in August or September go light yourself on fire. :)

I don't see what is so bad about resting Sale. The Tigers have over used Verlander and its showing now. Especially since Sale is only 24.

Pitchers need to pitch. His arm needs to be trained to go the 200-220 innings we would like to get out of him. Resting him doesn't help that cause.
What does it say to the rest of the team by resting a non-injured player? The negative backlash on that would be there for sure.
And you think for a moment that this endears Chris to the organization? Pitchers want to pitch too.

You are only speculating at best on Justin Verlander as to why he's having a solid year instead of a superman year. Right?

Verlander's had a good year not a solid one.

The work load has finally caught up to him this season.

Symantecs? Really?

He's a 2013 All Star as selected by the folks that aren't us :)

And take a look at who shelled Justin this year. Us twice the Royals once and then I believe it is Texas earlier in the year. Four bad starts out of like what 23 starts?

Not a bad idea either. You need to post more here.

Many thanks. I started more on this board during the Cup run. Been hard to jump back into last place....

It's hard as it has been so long since we have been this bad.

LaRussa isn't coming back to manage one of the 5 worst teams in baseball. Not trying to start a debate or anything. That's just the truth
