i don't think he's really a viable choice because him, millsap, and BG are the prized free agents this offseason.

plus you can't forget how he screwed over jim paxson.

Carlos Boozer is my target
I'd love Boozer but only if Bosh/Amare fails. And he wouldn't come to us as a fa but we would have to trade for him because we don't have cap space.

Not that we can afford him, but I think Lee would be a decent fit for this team. Sure he's not a great defender, but our biggest weakness on defense is rebounding and Lee is one of the best rebounders in the game. On offense he's a guy who scores efficiently without wanting a lot of shots (as opposed to Tyrus who scores inefficiently without wanting a lot of shots).

Lee can want what he likes, but if the Knicks are all set on Lebron in 2010, they might not want to pay him and someone could get a real bargain.

Millsap seems like the guy that when he is on a rookie contract he looks so good but than when he is making 8-10 million your like wow hes really not that good.

well d-lee's (haha, familiar) are very much inflated by d'antoni's system. really i think that if noah played for d'antoni, he would average at least 13 boards a game, maybe not as many points as lee though.

David Lee has been a great rebounder for every coach he's played for.

Anyway I don't think we have a realistic shot at any good free agents. We don't have space to sign anyone, and our best trade assets are expiring contracts, which aren't so attractive in sign and trades.

I think a better bet (if we want to spend rather than save capspace for 2010) is to target a Luol Deng type player: someone a team has signed, regretted the money and wants to get out from under their contract.

1. Ben Gordon

That's all that matters.

And if we do something like trade Deng/Salmons for Bosh, Amare, Boozer, etc, I'd love to go after Artest for the MLE, and try to go for the title next year.

Humm. AK-47?

Not that I want him; I don't. He's too brittle and doesn't bring as much as his contract implies. Maybe I'd send off Luol for him, but only if you're sending out Tyrus for someone to play backup minutes at the 3, or drafting a good backup 3 (No idea whom--Derozan if he slips to us?--which is doubtful at best).

The Bulls should look to sign a cheap three point shooting backup small forward in Steve Novak, and a cheap third center (potential backup next season) in Ryan Hollins.

Some other players that should be of interest is Zaza, Ike Diogu, Chris Wilcox and Joe Smith.

All players can fill our needs by giving us additional big man depth. I really like Zaza as a backup big man to throw his body around, grabbing rebounds, giving hard fouls, and get some scrap points. Ike Diogu is also another interesting player that I feel hasn't had a real chance to show what he can provide in this league, I think he is a really good scorer, and given a chance I think he could provide that big man scoring we desperately need.
