To be clear, I don't think either are great players. But they are both solid major leaguers with at least three prime years left, they shouldn't be terribly expensive to re-sign, and the Sox have nothing to replace them. If Sale and Eaton can stay healthy, and Garcia can come back at or near 100% next year, the Sox are a starting pitcher away from being a legit contender next year in my opinion. But I hear this constant let's trade Beckham and Ramirez talk, and I just don't get it. I'm not trying to be argumentative here, I'd just like to hear someone rationalize why those two should go. Because they're going to be relatively inexpensive, the Sox have no one to replace them, and they're not going to get much in return for a trade. May as well keep them and hope they can be Joe Crede/Aaron Rowand types who can play good defense and provide at least adequate offense.
