Lou Piniella Statistics and History - Baseball-Reference.com

Lou Piniella Managerial Record - Baseball-Reference.com

spent his whole life in the game, won a WS.

but I :dunno: maybe a 16 year old is better.

Great, he spent his whole life in the game? How does that translate to managerial intelligence. He won a WS with the '90 Reds. His biggest problem is bullpen management. He had one of the best bullpens of all time.

Did I ever say I am better? No. There are just thousands of better options than a senile old coot.

That depends, how good are you with your tongue? Gag reflex or no?

How good I am with my tongue has nothing to do with how many BJs you get from him. Nor do I really want to know how many times a day he sucks you off. What you two in your own time is your business. Not mine.

Wait, are you saying that you know more about the game than some managers?

No, I'm not going to compare my intelligence to a managers. Not even gonna go there, because it's just a stupid argument. What I am saying is that managers do some really stupid things. Ex. Batting replacements in the starters spot, pulling pitchers too early or leaving them in too late, pinch hitting, bunting before the 8th inning, stealing, favoring handedness, et cetera.

You're saying you wouldn't make any dumb moves as a manager? :obama:

well then ill stay with what i said...ill trust MLB managers over kids anyday

Cool. Good for you. What if a kids opinion is the same as yours? Going with the MLB managers still?

All I am saying is that managers have little to no positive effect on a team. I would rather have a computer be the manager than a human, because the computer doesn't have bias.

I don't see how you can defend some of these manager's moves. Just because I am a kid, doesn't mean I am wrong. Unless you think that Koyie Hill is better than Geovany Soto, or that Marmol should be the closer, or that batting DeWitt in the top half of the line-up makes sense, in which case, you need to get your head evaluated.

No, not at all. But, what I am saying is that managers get to where they are by who they know, not what they know. If we based it on that, we would see more success out of the Cubs. I'm not trying to say I would be good at the job or that I should have the job. What I am saying is that the managers we have are pretty useless.

WTF? How can you not think Marmol should be closer?

He's better fitted for the set up role. I'd rather see Woody or Marshall as the closer. The closer is flat out an overrated position. Plus, with Marms as the closer he will make more money. I'd rather see him in the role he was in in 2009, he becomes so much more valuable to the team.

Wood shouldn't be closer and Marshall and Marmol both did stellar in their roles.

I get where you are coming from with the money aspect though.

So because they did stellar in their roles means that we should just keep them there, even if it isn't beneficial to the team? Marmol would have been the best set-up pitcher in the league last year.

Why shouldn't Wood be the closer?
