never too late. Just play to enjoy it.

Do you do Krewe de Vieux? My BFF's wife is always flashing her ta ta's in one of those floats.

I had never heard of that so I did a search.

That looks like a lot of fun, New Orleans seems cool.

agreed. NOLA gets a bad rap for the spring break/mardi gras contingent. I trust my friends who love living there, and we love visiting them, but they avoid the quarter, usually, and show us the good parts. they also loved it enough to come back after losing their shit in Katrina.

that said, we could never deal with that humidity year-round. I thought I was going to die in City Park in July.

Yea, most New Orleanians stay out of the quarter. Its really almost all tourist and outside city people like from Metarie, Mandeville, Slidell, etc.etc. And yes, the weather in the summer is pretty brutal. I mean you get used to it, but ya still hot as shit. It can be 80 degrees and you break a sweat walking out the front door with the humidity. City Park is nice. You should come when its Christmas time. Celebrations in the Oaks is a nice thing to go see. Gorgeous lights.

I love New Orleans. The food, the people, the music, etc. When I was in the USAF I was in Bilox, MS for awhile and used to go over there all the time, and have been there several more times over the years. I'd never go there during Mardi Gras though. Pretty miserable IMO. I concur @silences - City Park is great. Also checked out the New Orleans Museum of Art after walking around some. I could also wander aimlessly around the Garden District all day long.

All that said, love Chicago too. Two of the best cities in the country IMO for very different reasons.

I have been to New Orleans 4 times, once for Mardi Gras. I was a sheik and I went with Elvira and Minnie Mouse. We all slept in the same bed

New Orleans is truly a shithole. It's unbearable in the spring and summer and humid all year long. It fucking smells. You risk your life traveling from the airport to the french quarter and hope your car doesnt break down. The French quarter is 3 blocks of fabricated tourist attraction. Every restaurant and bar is filthy. The police are more corrupt than Chicago or Boston, if that's even possible

Don't hold back. Tell us how you really feel.

BTW, I don't disagree.

A southern city with one of the highest murder rates in the country and terrible weather is better than Chicago? Okay Silences.

Also, NOLA is a very underrated town. Been there 4-5 times now and have loved it every single time. Bourbon Street is obviously a must-see, but there's so much else to do there that people don't realize.

Did you bring disinfectant? I wouldnt go there unless I was bubbled wrapped. So filthy and smelly, like being near Silence's armpits

No, they hosed me down with the power washers and bleach when they do their usual cleanup at 7am.

this might be a time I agree with eggbritches. Every time I've been there, it's always disgusting. I sometimes end up just leaving some of shoes there because I don't want to put them back in my suitcase to fly back. Streets are dirty. I will give it to them though...I'd be partying until 4 and the streets are trashed...come back at 8am on the same street and it's very clean.

Now to be fair, I only know the areas around LSU Health Sciences Center, Tulane, and Bourbon street. Maybe the other areas of New Orleans are prettier and not as trash

My favorite thing about Mardi Gras is that at midnight on the last night, the horse police are lined up shoulder to shoulder and force everyone off the street. N.O. police dont **** around during Mardi Gras. They keep law and order within the confines of chicks breaking out their tits

You are supposedly a mod on this message board and you still don't know how to use the multi-quote function. Could one of the non-Special person mods explain it to him?
