It's one of my fav places but it does smell bad and there are lots of scam artists looking to rip you off. but the food. the music. also has gr8 strip clubs if you are into that sort of thing. Not sure if Hustler Club still exists but a headliner took my necktie off and made a thong out of it one time.

Both have great food, music, art, culture, night life.. Chicago a better sports city. NO likely has a greater range of cultural diversity. Both have history corrupt governments. Both have shitty weather-at times. Both have crime problems. Been years since I have no been in NO so I am far from an expert. I am in Chicago many times per year. So you can take all of this with a grain of salt.

I have never been to New Orleans so I can't speak for it. I am sure the humidity is bad in the summer but it can't be any worse than Vietnam and I handled that.
Chicago is awesome between May and October. Winters are brutal weather wise but atleast you never run out of things to do.

Great city, one of the best in the US. Interviewed for a job there once, would have taken it if offered but wasn't.
Also Rebirth Brass Band is great, saw them live a few times in Texas.
