Will Rose's performance in ASG have any effect on his chances for MVP?

Doug Thonus touched on this in one of his articles and stole some of my thunder.

Do you think If Rose has a good performance tonight it will improve his chance of being nemed season MVP?

Do you think the Bostami Heatics (I mean "NBA East") will share the ball with Rose? As point guard he'll get plenty of touches, but if he passes the ball will he ever get it back in the same possession?

If Rose tries to have a big game tonight, will he come across as a selfish Player? Will his "humility" hurt his chances of getting the All-Star MVP?

What the hell were they thinking with "New Coke?"

Discuss ...

I don't think it will hurt him. So what's left? It certainly can help him.

Kevin McHale just picked him for MVP of the game tonight. I am anxious to see how he handles it. I remember Pippen in 1994 with the red shoes...you knew early that he wanted that MVP. So I am anxious to see how Rose starts out...

LeBron James dominates the basketball. If the East wins (which I think they will), he will likely win the MVP. I say Howard and Rose have semi-decent chances though.

If the West wins, Kevin Durant will more than likely be the MVP, so he is my pick.

Rose plays 5 minutes in 1st quarter and gets one shot. Rondo (the Backup) plays 7 minutes, more than any other player on the East team.

I can see where this is going ...

Kobe passed the ball once, and threw up like 15 shots already. Yeah, he's going to win the ASG MVP.

Kobe will probably get it: he's had 17 shots already including 3 3 pt attempts plus 4 free throws.

Bosh (as much as I hate to say it) is having the best game for the east. 6 of 6 so far. Lebron only has 6 points. Do you think he's getting snubbed by all the Celtics players?

So whats up with Rose attempting a flashy dunk, only to have 3 moving players in the restricted area with a clear blocking violation, then no foul is called? That did piss me off a bit, not because of the homer clause, but you basically discourage a player from dunking, because they don't want to get hurt in exhibition.

Rose has come alive a little bit with 6 pts so far in the 3rd qtr, He's made some good looking drives to the basket but it's far from an MVP performance.

With nobody playing defense, Kobe is dominating the game.

The East has looked just awful both times Doc put 4 Celtics on the floor at the same time. Ray Allen has been the only Celt to look any good at all.

That made me laugh. You know Rose wouldn't have missed that wide open lay-up.

Marv was guessing that maybe he meant to just put it up there for James to dunk, but that's not what I saw.

Yeah, that should've been a foul.

Nice run for the East. It won't happen, but I would love to see Rose win the game on a 3 point buzzer beater!

Once the East went on that 13-3 run and got close they had a real chance to win the game, because they play better defense than the West.

Kobe may get the MVP, but Lebron showed why he's the best player in the NBA right now.
