Will Rose's performance in ASG have any effect on his chances for MVP?

Yeah, LeBron helped his regular season MVP cause for sure.

The East lost the game on the possession where James dished the ball to Bosh, who missed a wide open 3 pointer, but they really lost a long time before that.

At least they made it competitive and it turned out to be a fun game to watch.

LBJ had a good game, no doubt...but imo, Kobe proved he's still the best player in the NBA.

Bosh and Paul Pierce lost this game for the Miami East.

Bosh misses a 3 and then has a rebound taken out of his hands by Gasol.

Pierce was just chucking like a mofo.

LeBron kept the East in it, but didn't want to take the shots in the final couple of possessions. He had the ball in his hands way too much.

I don't know if I agree with that. He deserved the MVP, but I think he got a lot more opportunities from his team to score than James did.

James had 29 pts, 12 reb and 10 assists. To me that's a more impressive stat line than Kobe's 37, 14 and 3. If you count assists as 2 pts, Kobe accounted for 43 pts and James accounted for 49 pts.

fair enough...but to me LBJ had more talent on his team....not by a lot, tho...
I guess is 6 of one, half-dozen of the other....and tbh, it may just be me hating lebum.

I hate him, too, but he carried the East on his back. Like I said before, Kobe deserved the MVP, but I don't think he's a better player (this year) than Lebron.

I would say (in this game, specifically) that Kobe was the better individual player and Lebron was the better team player.

Most Valuable Player? I could go either way.

I think Kobe was better individually and team-wise tonight than James.

Why, because he had more points? Kobe hit 16 of 33 shots (48.5%). Lebron hit 10 of 21 (47.6%). So Kobe was the better team player because he took 12 more shots, and hit at the same rate as Lebron? 10 of Kobe's 14 rebounds were offensive, so a lot of his points came off of his or his teammates misses. Lebron had 10 assists to kobe's 3. to me that's better team play.

i disagree with this. Lebron is the best player in the nba, and it's not even close.

this. kobe scored 37 of 33 shots. He played with williams, paul, anthony, durant, and gasol. Did kobe forget how to pass?

Best part? Who cares! Derrick Rose is going to win the real MVP and that's all that matters!

are you for real? there's at least five players in the nba i would take over kobe right now today without thinking about the future in any way. maybe more.

kobe's a great scorer and an all time great player but playing well in the all star game doesn't mean crap.

glen rice won over michael jordan even though jordan had the first triple double. who cares. who's better.

imo if you want to be the ASG MVP you have to be aggressive throughout the game. Piling up points is one way to do this. That's what Kobe did he scored 20+ in the first half and just continued to pile up his stats in the 2nd half lol.. Fans are going to vote for him obviously because he's from LA. Though Durant for me deserves to be the co-MVP and Lebron also did well (MVP if East won).

I think the East lost because of spite, not because of talent.

4 Celtics, 3 heat players, Amare and Al. There's a lot of beef in that locker room, more specifically, a lot of recent beef. I think Rose, Allen, Dwight, and Joe Johnson were the only ones balancing a neutral mentality in the first half.

I don't like how much LeBron James had the ball in his hands. To me, that is selfish when you feel as though you need to score or assist every point. Kobe Bryant had an excellent game and outplayed everybody on the court. 10 offensive rebounds is outstanding.

I don't see how you could watch this game and say LeBron was the better player of the two tonight...

The reason the East lost is because Wade (great motion off the ball player) sat out the last 2 quarters. And because Dwight Howard only had 4 field goal attempts... who's fault is that?

The Celtics lost to the West. When the Celtics came in, the East went down and they actually sucked. Turing the ball over, shooting air balls, playing bad defense, etc. When they weren't on the court, that's when the East made runs and almost came back. The Celtics made the deficit worse when they were in.

Celtics lost to West!
