He has a better career ERA than the great Carlos Marmol..

Ya don't just use ERA ya buffoon.

How about this one for the fail-bride Cawks..

Crain 8 Seasons 334 K's

Marmol 6 Seasons 599 K's

I'll take the guy that's a little more than serviceable :lmao:

So two bad years vs six very good years = serviceable?

:obama:

No.

You guys are suckling his dick over a few good years without seeing he had some bad years in there.

Yet again I'm not ripping the guy. He's a serviceable pitcher.

K's really isn't a good measuring tool. As long as they get outs, without their BABIP raising (actually forcing grounders, k's pop ups and not getting lucky), then who cares.

It wasn't even the point really.. Just that Joe has no idea how to actually compare a player.

I said he had two bad years, and six good ones.

Even when you consider the two bad years in his career totals (132 ERA+, 6.7 K/9, 1.254 WHIP) that's still above average. Which means he isn't "serviceable", since according to you, it means "average".

Go back to the Cubs forum.

Yeah that fits under the realm of serviceable. There are a ton of relievers that fit that area.

Serviceable mean's average.

Above average =/= average

Crain =/= serviceable.

There are far more average or serviceable or whatever you want to call it.. Like I've said the guy doesn't make that position a strength or a weakness.

I'm not repeating this unless you want to contribute to my post count.

You're right, if Zach Stewart was the set up righty he'd be just as good as Crain.

Maybe in your mind he's above average.

According to stats he is.

Please, just go back to the Cubs forum, we all know if Crain was a Cubbie and Joe tried to call him "servicable" you'd be the first to call him an idiot, and defend Crain to the death. You're just a Sox hater who has to come to the Sox forum and cause trouble.

Umm.. no..

You might want to use a non Sox player as example to compare considering Stewart isn't proven hasn't looked good and has a low sample size in comparison to Crain.

Dude.

Sean Marshall is relatively similar (minus the handedness) he's a serviceable reliever.

You act like I'm using a swear word.

There are a ton of these type of relievers.. heck almost every team has one that is within reasonable comparison.
