Meh. I understand where you're going and I think we just have different opinions on what's right. Bad tattoos are everywhere. The only way to get them to stop is to start pointing out where artists fucked them up. Really, my buddy should have gone back to the shop and got some money back and the artist should suffer the humiliation from his co-workers for not checking his design. I own a tree company. Much like a tattoo artist my work is permanent. One wrong cut and I could disfigure a clients tree. Knowing that, I study and take my time and make sure everything is as close to perfect as I can make it. Professionals, in every field, need to be held accountable. There a growing trend where clientele aren't getting the quality of craft they are paying for and deserving of. People need to speak up or it won't ever stop.
Sorry, that turned into a rant.
I agree and disagree. What separates quality people from regular people, imo, is attention to detail! A great tattoo artist would have been on the ball and asked questions about the logo, and had everything understood before making a move. Let's face it, there are so many posers in the working world today that take shortcuts, and are lazy, in every industry.
However, if I was going to have someone permanently scar my body on purpose, I WOULD MOST DEFINITELY MAKE SURE THAT IT WAS UNDERSTOOD WHAT I WAS GETTING!!! As crappy as the artist may have been, if at all, for lack of attention to detail, the blame falls on anyone getting a tat and NOT making sure it was right, or what they wanted!
