I'm not worried that they pulled him on a walk. He is known to take his foot off the gas when the game is out of reach for the opponent.

Let alone, he essentially saw the same number of batters as a closer walking the bases loaded and then getting three outs in the 9th.

Maybe Chapman likes regular work and Maddon didn't want him coming into Game 7 on two days rest? Some relievers actually prefer that. Too many backseat drivers without the necessary information to have educated opinions.

Fastball was 3-4mph off his normal. You can see he's already a little worn down. 62 pitches in the last relief appearances. It's gonna to be quite stressfull if Joe tries to use him tomorrow.

Well, I think with a 5 run lead, you have to count on the rest of the pen. I get that it's win or go home, but winning tonight and burning your pen is not good. You habe to look at it as a two game strategy, and your chances of winning both are far better if your other BP pitchers save a 5 run lead.

All that being said, I think Joe gets away with it! I am retracting my "walkoff Wednesday" post.

I saw him hit 101-103 tonight. We saw him give zero fucks a few games back, well rested, because the game was well in hand. Fastballs between 97-99. The kid can throw 100+ in his sleep, if he want to.
