We all know it's over. Deep down I knew it was over on the two run wild pitch. Same feeling as after Bartman. You can hope and pray and bargain but you know it's over in your heart even with brief moments of false hope popping up after. Nothing that has happened since has surprised me. Of course they give you hope right up until the very end to maximize the misery. And once that hope has been removed, we get a nice long rain delay to sit and stew in it. Don't even get to mercifully end it quickly.

I mean, honestly, we all know what's going to happen. It's only a matter of time. That's how this works with the cubs. We lose runs to inches on defense and fail to get runs to inches on offense. Our manager goes full Special person and chokes away a massively winnable game. Fate decides to **** us both ways on a couple plays of inches. It all conspires to bring what we all know is coming.

I'm sure this post will be met with anguished shitposting and rage. But that's only because it's true. We know it's all over but the crying. Although for many of us that has started already.

I had visions of Kipniss hitting a 9th inning shot. You know..... the kid who grew up a Cubs fan fucking us in the bottom of the 9th.

That's what would have happened in the past. This year can still be different.

Longer delay could have chased Shaw.

It's almost like that 2 run wild pitch was symbolic or something. It's Chicago sports, whether it's the Cubs, Bulls, or Bears, it just seems to never happen for them. Always goes the other way.

Maybe the Cubs can prove me wrong tonight or whenever they finish the game, but I doubt it.

First move by Maddon tonight I agree with.

Sent from hell, or possibly Albuquerque.

As soon as Maddon pulled Hendricks I knew it was over. Then when he put in Chapman I literally told my wife that they were gonna pound Chapman. Both were exactly right. Joe Maddon has so mismanaged this game tonight that words can not even describe it.

Even though Chicago has 10 championships over the past 25 years, it does seem like we have shit luck too haha
