Hickson is a promising player. The team did very well with him in the lineup. But money talks and they had to give Shaq his minutes. Mike Brown is a dumbass. I like Hickson a lot. He's a little raw still but he's active and has some tools to work with. I'd take Hickson any day of the week. Kid has some upside.

He's definitely not already there. He still has a ways to go offensively, but he's shown promise. He can finish down low, he can rebound and he's shown a nice jumper from time to time. Plus, he's very athletic. Hickson is not a finished product yet. Mike Brown is an idiot though for not playing him. I could care less about Shaq's feelings. The Cavs were better when they had guys who could get up and down the court.

Quite frankly, LeBron and/or Bosh would be stupid not to sign with us. Sure, on paper playing with Wade looks great but how much longer will he be at the top of his game. His body is worn down as it is. I think he's at the peak of his career right now and the only way to go is down for him. And New York/New Jersey? :lmao:

Good Core - check
Youth - check
Big Market - check
Tradition - check
Coach - check (this is our weakest pitch right now, and that's saying something)
Championship Potential - check
I wouldnt even say they look better on paper. If you compare Rose to Wade then yeah but if they signed a big three, they wouldnt have money to add pieces like Noah, a guy who was 2nd in rebounding before getting hurt and averaging a double double. You wouldnt be able to get a guy like Deng who produces 18-8 and plays good defense. At best they would get a guy like Taj.

We have roughly the same amount of cap as Miami if they resign Wade. If you were Bron/Bosh, which team looks more likely to go further.
CHI: PG-Rose(21 year old All-Star) SF-Deng(25. 18-8) PF-Taj(24 or 25. NBA All Rookie 1st team) C-Noah(25. AVG double double). Bench: 2nd year mid-1st round draft pick James Johnson

MIA: PG-Chalmers(24. role player at best) SG-Wade(28. top 3 player. great overall game) PF-Beasley(21. 14ppg scorer. Unwilling defender and head case)

If you look at our team w/ Bron and Bosh and you dont question the starting 5. You say those are 5 guys that can get it done. If you look at Miami's team you say, i would like a better PG, who the hell is our C? Pittman? You dont play Bosh at C and start Beasley at the 4.

If he's a force in a few years then he cant be there now. Upside doesnt mean you're "there" it means that you have the tools to improve and become a better player. Hixon is talented and shows promise but hes definitely not there yet.
