I completely agree with this. While LeBron is without a doubt the best player in this clase, he isnt the greatest need for this team like regoob said. How may times have analysts beaten the dead horse about how we need inside scoring and a good three point shooter? The Bulls could get Bosh and Joe Johnson and easily compete with anyone in this league. With uprising all-star PG in Rose and a guy who controls the boards like Noah and still have a guy who would be your 4th scoring option in Deng, who the hell can compete? No teams in the East. Also Taj was a pretty damn reliable PF(NBA Rookie 1st team) for us last season. As the last option on the team he gave us 9-7.5.
Cub, youre kind of out of line for bashing Regoob for his opinion, which isnt moronic or crazy at all.
Also, the mentioning of getting JJ and LeBron... How could we do that with Deng? Him nor LeBron are playing PF and Deng is a waste on the bench. If we land LeBron, you add any top PF you can get your hands on starting with Bosh and work your way down to Boozer.
Theres a side of me that wants LBJ to stay in Cleveland. We could sign Bosh and tell Wade that Johnson is willing to sign with us so you can either join us or rot in Miami with a team that could be great but ultimately cant match up with us.
This isnt homerism speaking but we have a team that doesnt need to have a guy like LeBron or Wade. We've got young talent thats only going to get better. Rose could be a superstar in the making.
:support:
My thoughts exactly. We have a very nice core right now that will only get better as Rose, Noah and Gibson develop. I personally believe Rose will be a superstar when it's all said and done. You just can't teach a 40 inch vertical and blinding speed at PG. He's the LeBron James of PG's (physically speaking). Noah is a double-double every night. Deng is a solid SF. Taj still has room to get stronger and develop a post game.
Adding Johnson and Boozer would be a successful offseason. Yea, we will probably overpay for them but Rose - Johnson - Deng - Boozer - Noah is bar none the best all around starting 5 in the league.
Quite frankly, LeBron and/or Bosh would be stupid not to sign with us. Sure, on paper playing with Wade looks great but how much longer will he be at the top of his game. His body is worn down as it is. I think he's at the peak of his career right now and the only way to go is down for him. And New York/New Jersey? :lmao:
If those players want to win titles, Chicago is the place to come. Followed by Miami and the Clippers (they have a lot of young talent). Honestly, we have the best pitch out of anyone in free agency.
Good Core - check
Youth - check
Big Market - check
Tradition - check
Coach - check (this is our weakest pitch right now, and that's saying something)
Championship Potential - check
